RTB fitness clubs may have been seeing members through their fitness journeys for a month now, but coach Bevan James Eyles says it’s never too late to get involved and start kicking goals.
The program is designed to match Aotearoa in time for the Round the Bays Fun Run in Auckland in March, but that particular date doesn’t have to mark the end of someone’s journey, says Eyles.
And while those who sign up now won’t be able to complete the entire program in time for the fun run, they can easily join and incorporate it as one of their scheduled training days.
He says that no matter when you start, the benefits of the program are greater than that one race day in March.

Participants already in the program are already seeing benefits in the first four weeks.
One member of the club’s Facebook community said the program’s video component “really supports your mindset until fitness catches up,” while another said she hopes she’ll be healthier before January is over. He said it was wonderful to know that he is on the path to becoming a better person.
The program can yield many benefits “whenever you start,” says Eyles.
“The program always works.”
Eyles offers a full eight-week program plus weekly Q&A video sessions. Private Facebook groups have a vibrant community where members support and encourage each other throughout their journeys.
“We had some really great comments on our Facebook page,” he says.
“When you feel part of a community, you feel accountable, but you also feel like you’re adding value,” he says.
Members not only support each other’s success, but also discuss their struggles, which helps keep everyone on track, says Eyles.
“These people have never met each other, but they are really supportive of each other…Shared experiences are what really matter in life.”
“You’ll be fitter and healthier, but it’s actually a realistic program that you can build a foundation on. [of a healthier lifestyle]”
And ultimately, no matter when you start, the program is designed to help people build long-term habits.
And there is no deadline for that, he says.
“You will learn to believe in yourself. You will learn to be able to handle life’s more difficult moments.”
