My name is Tuesday gray (@four_mouseketeers), I am 31 years old. I live in San Diego, California and am a new WW (formerly Weight Watchers) coach. Being diagnosed with gallbladder disease and gallstones was a turning point for me. I started changing my diet on WW and started jazzercise. These changes helped me lose 100 pounds and keep it down.
I was medically overweight or obese for the rest of my life. When I got pregnant with my first baby girl, I gained another 40 pounds. Two years later, I became pregnant with my second baby, but never lost the weight of my previous baby. By the time my second daughter was born, it was the heaviest I’ve ever had, and I had health problems because of how I ate it. At 24, the scale reached 256 pounds.
Shortly after my second daughter was born, I had extreme pain after eating. One day she slowly increased until her husband was so painful that he called an ambulance. She was determined to have gallstones and gallbladder disease. The ER did little to tell me how my nutrition played a big role in this, and what would get worse if I didn’t change. So I was discharged with painkillers and wasn’t ready to change.
I didn’t feel like changing yet, so I returned to the ER several times due to the pain of a power outage. I declined the surgery. The pain became worse after drinking water.
I finally had the gallbladder removed, and they said it was the worst gallbladder they’ve seen for some time. I was shocked by the stone infection. At that point, I couldn’t eat without pain for several months and lost about 20 pounds.

A young mom of two impressive girls, with no self-confidence or self-esteem. She always felt she was preaching “as I say, not as I say”. I deserved to be my best version, and my family also deserved to have her!
On February 25, 2019, my life changed. I met a friend I hadn’t seen in a while and she looked great.
She was confidently shining and looked very happy. She told me she was doing WW, and I entered my local studio late that night. I was very inspired, and I told myself, This. I’m ready to be the best possible version of myself-for myself-and everyone else.

And the rest is history! I still needed the freedom to enjoy my favorite food, so I thought that was right for me. I knew that restricted diets wouldn’t work. I was easily bored and needed to know that there are more options than just chicken and vegetables every day.

This is what I eat in a day.
- breakfast: Protein iced coffee. I use half a protein shake of espresso on ice (usually I like to use Alani Nu fit shake or Premier Protein), followed by egg variations such as egg whites, ham and vegetable omelets. Homemade breakfast sandwiches; or my personal favorite: breakfast tacos!
- lunch: I usually keep my lunch pretty simple. Turkey sandwiches were piled high with vegetables with fruit sides. Or a dark chicken wrap made from low-carb tortillas and Bolthouse Farm ranch dressing combined with raw vegetables.
- snack: Fresh fruits and vegetables. Watermelons, snap peas and pickles are my favorites! Light string cheese, pretzels, protein bars, edamame, hummus with vegetables, fiber one bar. My absolute favorite treat is air popcorn with white cheddar seasoning!
- dinner: The reason this plan works is that you have the flexibility to switch between meals. I am always learning and looking for new recipes for dinner to stay interested. Some of the dinners I had at the beginning of my trip were a two-component dough pizza, pickled chicken (mock tick fillet), and salsa chicken tacos made from crispy shells in the oven. I’m currently eating a lot of brown rice and broccoli teriyaki salmon bowls, lentil soft tacos, and grilled Hawaiian antikin sandwiches. I always serve dinner with different kinds of vegetables.
- dessert: Enlightened brand cookie dough ice cream bar, homemade pisky made with chocolate chip muffin mix and light vanilla ice cream, or warm homemade banana bread made in place of Lacanto monk fruit sugar.

I didn’t actually start exercising until I reached my target weight. I was just not mentally ready.
When I was finally ready, I started by going to Jazzercise with my mother! As soon as I entered a great training routine, the world shut down because of COVID. However, I effectively continued jazzercise and eventually diverged to strength training at home.

I’m currently training at home using the FitOn app, and I do HIIT and strength training four times a week for 30-60 minutes each.

With these three changes, my weight loss was successful.

- I put myself first. I completely changed my mind. From my lack of self-confidence, I became the biggest cheerleader. I put my goals first. I pay attention to everything I do while doing it. The reason I was so successful this time was because I was doing this myself. I believed I could.
- I accepted the plan. The plan leads me to success! Every Sunday, I’m still sitting and using my shopping list to plan all the dinners of the week. I even track my meals in advance, so I know how many points I have to work on before dinner. If you’re eating out (going to eat a lot with your family), plan ahead! Check if the restaurant is in the WW app and plan what to order before it arrives. I’m not afraid to bring my items to the restaurant. My husband is always amused when I pull my dressing out of my wallet!
- My refrigerator is always in stock. I’m always ready. I stock refrigerators and pantry with foods that I know to fuel and fill my body. I try not to get hungry, but my mom is busy and sometimes doesn’t hear the signal of hunger. Before I notice, I’m hungry. Keeping items that you know fit your budget will keep you from making a fuss.

I lost about 100 pounds in total, and I stopped it for over 2 years.

My trip taught me how strong I am. I didn’t know that before. It’s difficult to lose weight, but you’re obese. I lost 100 pounds, but I got more. I know my worth and am very confident in myself. Finally, it felt like a role model needed for 6 and 9 year old girls. They know it’s not about what we look like, but about how we feel. You can do hard!
