Kelsey Gomez, director of sports nutrition for football in North Carolina, will leave UNC to play the same role at the University of Florida. Gomez came to UNC in 2015 as Dean of the Faculty of Sport and Nutrition and played that role until the end of the 2021 football season.
Gomez We worked closely with the UNC Diversity Movement Team to provide sports nutrition education, nutritional counseling, and dietary planning support. Her focus was on the Turheal football team, who led all nutrition and dietary plans for the program under Larry Fedora Head Coach and Mac Brown Head Coach.
In Florida, Gomez will work under Billy Napier, the new Gator’s head coach appointed to that position on November 28, after four seasons in Louisiana.

Gomez was a sports nutrition coordinator at the University of Florida from 2012 to 2015, overseeing nutrition in eight diversity programs. Other previous experiences include consulting at the University of Central Florida from 2011 to 2012 and working as a dietitian for traumatic brain injury and rehabilitation units at the Orlando Community Health Center from 2009 to 2011. ..
Gomez He earned a bachelor’s degree in health education and a minor in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and swam on the Varsity Swim Team. He then earned a master’s degree in sports nutrition from Florida State University. During her dietary internship at FSU, she was an athletic sports nutrition intern and also had the opportunity to work with professional athletes at Athlete’s Performance in Phoenix, Arizona.

Gomez is certified as a Registered Dietitian (RD), Certified Specialist in Sports Nutrition (CSSD), Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT) for Food Sensitive Professionals, and Certified for Adult Weight Management by the Academy of Nutrition and Nutrition. I have also received.
Gomez, an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Nutrition (AND), received the 2014 Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year Award from the Academy of Nutrition and Nutrition (FAND) in Florida. She is also active in college and the Association of Professional Sports Dietitians (CPSDA).
Gomez is from Charlotte, North Carolina and is a graduate of Charlotte Catholic High School.
