The Abu Dhabi Community Development Authority (DCD) will work with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council to launch a new community fitness program, Active Park, along with municipalities in the cities of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Al Dhabi region. Leveraging the diverse parks and urban green spaces of the Emirate in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, we encourage citizens and residents to participate in regular exercises and pursue an active outdoor lifestyle.
The Active Parks Initiative is central to DCD’s ongoing efforts to promote sports and physical activity throughout the community. A four-week fitness participation and education program, held from December 30th to January 26th in 12 parks and urban spaces throughout the Emirate, through more than 380 free sessions open to anyone aged 15 years. During the one-month Active Park program, the community will have access to a variety of fun and healthy activities such as DanceFit, RunFit, Bootcamps, CrossFit, Stretch & Mobility and more. Active Park runs across 12 parks and urban spaces, including Madinato Zayed, Arluweis Park 2, and Almirfa National Park in the Ardafra region. Al Jahiri Park and Al Towaya Park in Al Ain City.
