It’s something that almost everyone experiences, especially bad for women, but there are ways to help prevent it.
Welcome to Ask Doctor Zac, a weekly column on news.com.au. This week, Dr. Zack Turner talks about hanging bingo feathers.
question: Hello Dr. Zack,
My husband and I have been married for 40 years and it’s great. What was so great was watching our bodies sag and wrinkle.
Raised the skill of the tack shop! My worst nightmare has come true. Is there anything I can do to reduce the sagging of my arms? And why did I get them, but my husband doesn’t have them? He has less exercise than I do! – Wendy Perth, 60 years old
answer: Tuck Shop Arms, Bingo Wings, Bat Wings, Piano Arms, Nana Wings – There are many ways to explain the biceps of older people who have begun to sag. Thank you for coming to me for help in changing your body, but I recommend that you first accept that your body has begun its aging process.
By taking a more acceptable attitude towards the aging of your body, you are less likely to seize your health and opportunity to seize the last remnants of your youth.
Sometimes older patients come to me and ask for anabolic steroid hormones just because they want to feel as strong as 20 years old – even if steroids of their age have serious health consequences for them. May give.
Another common “aging problem” I see is what you are coming to me here: sagging. There are some exercises to reduce the skill of the tack shop, but first we will discuss the science behind sagging.
A “tuck shop arm”, or sagging upper arm, is a collection of fat cells under the skin that causes sagging and wobbling. As you grow older, your body’s structural collagen becomes weaker and weaker.
Think of structural collagen as a brick of the proteins that make up the skin, tendons, and other tissues. Over time, they lose power and eventually sag.
Sorry, there’s a reason you have them and your husband doesn’t: Women are usually more affected by this than men for two reasons.
First, women naturally have a wider distribution of fat in their bodies. Although men’s fat is in the center of the abdomen. The more fat cells in your arm, the more likely you are to sag. Females also undergo a series of hormonal changes that affect the size and structure of fat cells that men do not.
There are five exercises to help you say goodbye to your tack shop arm. For best results, we recommend doing it all at once every day.
push ups
Probably the first exercise you’ve ever done as a young person and the last exercise you’ve ever done. This exercise is almost perfect for this problem as it separates the main areas of interest.
Don’t worry, I never expect you to do push-ups like Commando. Place it on your lap, flatten your palms and place your hands under your shoulders.
With your fingers facing forward, bend your elbows sideways and slowly lower your body. When your chest is about 5 cm off the floor, hold it for 2 seconds and then push it up.
Repeat 10 to 15 times.
Triceps brachii dip
This is something you can do outside the park benches and shelves. All you need to do is sit on the edge of the surface and put your hands next to your hips. Slowly lift off the bench and push your hips forward. Then just bend your elbows, lower your hips and push back.
Repeat 10 to 15 times.
The wall pushes away
This is very similar to push-ups, except that you are standing on the other side of the wall. Place your hands on the wall at chest level and slowly bend your arms to lower your body to the wall. As you approach the wall, your heels should come off the floor. Then slowly push it back off the wall.
Repeat 10 to 15 times.
Biceps curl
Hold a small weight on both arms and set it aside. Stand straight, lift your legs hip-width apart, lift your forearms toward your shoulders, and start bending your elbows. Then slowly lower your elbows.
Repeat 10 to 15 times.
Boxing class
Boxing classes are scheduled at almost every gym these days. We strongly recommend that you come with us at least once a week. This is a great opportunity for you to train your arms and can be a great bond session with your husband.
Not only are these exercises great for stiffening your arms, they will also keep you moving longer and more active. The best way to prolong the aging process is to stay active. As they say in business, if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it.
This will give you the power to feel healthier and healthier in your older years.
