Lebanon Meza brings the taste of the Mediterranean to Smithville.
Located on 7283 Regional Road 20, the restaurant focuses on fresh and healthy Lebanese cuisine, serving traditional and special Canadian Lebanese fusion cuisine.
Owner Farah Dandach-El Dika opened the restaurant on May 10 after thinking, “Smithville needs something new, something healthy.”
The restaurant serves typical Lebanese dishes such as hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel and shawarma. However, Dandach-ElDika also created a Canadian Lebanese fusion “Poutine Shawarma” with garlic and hot sauce.
She is also proud of the fattosh salad made with authentic recipes using lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, coleslaw, parsley, mint and sumac.
Everything in the restaurant is made from scratch using “very fresh” ingredients and “nothing cheap”. Dandach-El Dika’s family will eat in restaurants, so her philosophy is to sell only happy food for children to eat.
During the blockade of COVID-19, Dandach-El Dika was “bored and had to do something” and started selling food and food at home.
She started advertising on Facebook and her page attracted hundreds of followers. Now she has leapt to open a restaurant just outside Smithville, and so far she is excited about the reception from the local community. “People love it,” she said.
“People come just because they want to hear how good it is and try something new.”
