The Australian personal trainer, known for guiding soccer player David Beckham to yoga, shared a “spicy” ab workout she swears by for a toned, toned physique.
Sydney-born, London-based elite gymnast Shauna Virtue says that if you want to get in shape, you should never “ignore your obliques.”
The external oblique is one of the outermost abdominal muscles, extending from the lower half of your ribs to your pelvis.
“Save this spicy ab workout and don’t neglect your obliques,” Shauna said in an Instagram video showing a workout you can do at home in your living room.

To try out a workout for yourself, PT said all you need is a sofa or something similar and a workout mat that allows you to perform the movements on the floor.
For the first movement, lie on your back with both hands grasping the legs of the sofa.
Then lift your legs off the floor and perform a reverse crunch before dipping again to ascend. Do this movement 30 times.
“This move targets your rectus abdominis and obliques,” Shauna said.
This means reaching deep core muscles where you get visible abs.
To try out the workout for yourself, PT said all you need is a sofa or similar and a workout mat so you can perform the moves on the floor (movies pictured).
The second move involves the same setup, but simply rotates the foot in a circular motion from top to bottom in a move called “Around the World.”
βThey also help with V-ups and hanging leg raises,β says Shona.
Again, repeat this movement 30 times, then rest and repeat the entire circuit.
“If you do any of these things, your lats might try to take over,” she said.
“You can compensate for this by staying off the couch and keeping your armpits open at the same time. It may sound strange, but try it and let us know how it goes.”
