St John of God Health Care Adopts Online IFC, Payment Process by EpiSoft
St. John of God Health Care implemented EpiSoft’s online informed financial consent and payment process for patients.
These features are the latest additions to the epi-me online patient admissions portal, also by EpiSoft. It is also integrated with the hospital group’s web-based his PAS.
These additions will bring “significant efficiency improvements” to the hospital. This allows staff to generate patient rate estimates from her webPAS. This will automatically be exported to epi-me where it will be presented with the National Claim Form.
After obtaining an online IFC, patients can choose to securely pay out-of-hospital pocket expenses, including credit card pre-authorization for incidental charges that may be incurred during hospitalization. The e-signed document and payment receipt are then returned to webPAS and the patient’s account is automatically updated as paid.

Last year, the agency won an award Deloitte has been awarded a contract to develop a health information gateway that provides a “secure and scalable platform for exchanging and accessing health information.” It is based on modern web services and HIE standards such as FHIR.
Medi-Map platform approved for use in Western Australia
The Medi-Map electronic medication management system has been approved for use in Western Australia as part of a closed electronic prescription system between residential aged care facilities (RACFs) and pharmacies.
The Medi-Map Medication Management system is considered transitionally compatible under the Electronic National Residential Medication Chart (eNRMC) Transition Agreement.
Following this accreditation, Medi-Map will be required to provide more detailed information on governance and staff access to its systems, procedures, and demonstrations of its use as a closed system.
Since 2018, the national RACF has been trying to make eNRMC compliant products available nationwide.
