Hafso broke the record for Eddie Hall, the only other man to draw 0.5 tonnes. Eddie set an old deadlift world record of 500 kg (1102.3 lbs) at the 2016 Giants Live Deadlift World Championship.
Two other influential people have approached Hafso’s record. Peiman Maheripur was able to lift 492 kg in training, but Ivan Makarov lifted only 2 kg less than him. This is a 490kg deadlift.
