Have you canceled your Jim membership since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic?
If you quit your workout or move your workout outdoors or online: The gym or exercise studio wants you back!
To that end, New York City is in the midst of the first ever NYC Fitness Week, which began on June 5.th I will run the weekend until Sunday, June 12thth.. (Sorry for the late notification, but we still have time!)
NYC Fitness Week is the brainchild of Fitness experts Debra Strougo of Fitizens Holdings and Brian Chappon of Centered Wellness. According to their website, their goal is “to give the terribly confused fitness industry the support and awareness needed for a strong recovery from a pandemic.”
Strougo was previously marketing at both NYC Restaurant Week and Broadway Week. “These were great programs that helped inspire the New York restaurant and theater industry,” she said. As a fitness expert who saw the industry suffering during a pandemic, Strougo was urged to create a similar program to assist gyms and exercise studios.
During NYC Fitness Week, exercise enthusiasts will be able to “BOGO” (one for free with one purchase) at participating fitness centers. According to the event organizer, BOGO may also refer to the gym’s one-day pass. Participating gyms and studios may offer additional unique promotions.
The New York gym and fitness studio were one of the last facilities to reopen as part of New York’s reopening plan. When they finally resumed, the capacity rules in place were limited. Many Covid-careful New Yorkers are still hesitant to return to indoor group exercise classes or gyms.
“Fitness was one of the most confused industries by the pandemic. In New York, 40% of fitness doors are completely closed,” said Fhitting Room, an exercise studio on 88 Columbus Avenue 584, on social media and content. Manager Alex Machado said.th I told the street, Westside Rug. “We are excited to attend this event and continue to help New Yorkers maintain their physical and mental health.”
