CAIPER provides evidence-based strategies, training, and education to develop a better understanding of team collaboration and its impact on healthcare.
of team received 2022 George E. Thibault, MD Nexus Award In front of classmates and colleagues across the country National Center for Interprofessional Practice and EducationAnnual Nexus Summit on August 20th.
The award honors “exemplary interprofessional collaboration in the United States and those who think and act differently where practice and education meet in the health care system.” It is conducted annually and started in 2016.

It’s also a full circle moment for CAIPER, which was founded in 2015 with the support of the Laureates and the National Centre. At the time, Thibaut was president. Josiah Macy Jr. Foundationawards grants to organizations that “work to improve public health through innovative projects that facilitate the education and training of health professionals.”
CAIPER’s founding director, Gerri Lamb, who now serves in an advisory role, says Thibault came to ASU early to meet with university leaders and help champion the center.

To date, CAIPER has received over $2.9 million in research funding and grants to support initiatives in interprofessional practice and education.
Over the past seven years, the center has issued over 40,000 certificates to learners around the world. CAIPER e-learning course and material.
Today, CAIPER’s work is focused on advancing the science of interprofessionalism and team-based health care through research, but its efforts go beyond that. The team then takes that science and translates it into training and education for medical and social he care professionals, faculty, students, and industry leaders.

CAIPER continues to evolve today.Center recently consolidated showstudent health outreach for wellness, advancing the path from education to practice.
CAIPER also Learning Solution Consulting An initiative to work with national and international partners to fully integrate CAIPER’s e-learning programs into existing interprofessional programs and curricula.
Additionally, given the growing interest in CAIPER’s research activities among students and faculty, this fall, CAIPER will launch the BhEAT Lab (Belonging, Humility, Equity, Influence, Team). .
All of this work is aligned with the ultimate goal of transforming healthcare locally, nationally and globally to optimize individual, family, community and collective health.
