Rochester, Michigan (WXYZ) — A Rochester man is bringing mobile gym ideas to ABC’s Shark Tank!
Nezar Akeel will appear in the 13th season of the reality show to market the innovative fitness product MAXPRO.
A former car engineer has been involved in this device for five years and has developed a unique dial that gives users of portable cable fitness machines up to £ 300 resistance.
“Currently, we have over 12,000 customers worldwide,” says Akeel.
According to Akeel, MAXPRO is sold in 56 countries and the company has sold over $ 12 million in the first year.
In January 2020, his fitness machine won the “Best of Innovation” award at the Computer Electronic Show in the Health and Fitness category.
“The pandemic closed the gym. People were actually trying to get something related to fitness at home,” he said.
Last week, MAXPRO’s new app was launched with numerous training classes and real-time performance data tracking.
And will his latest product be released next year? An inclined inclined bench that can also be used as a rowing machine.
“When did you decide?” “Hey, let’s go to Shark Tank,” asked WXYZ Morning Anchor and Reporter Alicia Smith.
“The funny thing is, I actually applied for it a few months before they contacted me, but I didn’t hear anything,” Akir said. “Suddenly they called me. I said,” Oh, did you contact me for my application? “They said,” No, we put you online. I found it in. “And I seem to say,” Oh, even better! ” “
It’s a six-month process, and Akeel said he wasn’t sure if he would actually attend the show, even a few days ago, using the strict COVID protocol.
“They tested you at least four times within three days,” he said.
And he got a green light.
He was nervous when he passed through the double door.
“Oh, first of all, your heart is competing for a thousand beats per minute, and it was like I had to breathe to calm down a bit,” he said.
Knowing that this was his shot in front of a shark, he prepared for a Q & A and remembered his message.
“I was trying to get it done in my head.’Remember the pitch. You’re going to get this.'” And, of course, you need to have the energy. You have to be enthusiastic. So to get a good pitch, we need to put it all together, “says Akeel.
The episode of Akeel’s Shark Tank will air on ABC on Friday night, December 17, 2021 at 8 pm.
He says he has a watch party with his family and friends. Of course, they don’t even know what will happen.
