Dr. Michael Mosley has always had weight loss tips and revealed that there is one action people can take to help progress. He explained that standing for a few minutes an hour can have a positive effect on blood sugar, metabolism, mood, and even bones.
According to nutritionists, you can burn a few calories and lose weight effectively just by standing at your feet.
In his BBC podcast JustOneThing, Dr. Mosley explained how to replace intense training with an easier alternative to losing weight.
“One of the most effective tricks is not to sit for hours, but to stand alone to lower blood sugar, increase metabolism and lose weight,” he said.
Nutrition experts who made the 5: 2 diet plan famous explained that this simple trick of burning large amounts of calories is as effective as running 10 marathons.

“The constant gravitational pull of sitting can adversely affect bone density and reduce the benefits of training when standing up.”
And that’s not the end of the risk story associated with sitting too much. The same activity is associated with type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and even a high risk of premature death.
But people don’t even have to stand up for five minutes to boost weight loss.
Instead, doing so every hour for 2-3 minutes can improve your cognitive health and at the same time straighten your waistline.

“Doing so for only a week can have significant benefits to your overall health,” he said.
“You can do this while making a phone call or investing in a standing desk. After standing for a while, you can wash away excess sugar from your body.”
He advised that getting up with this simple, device-free exercise would increase your heart rate in a year and burn the same amount of calories as running 10 marathons.
And he recommended doing tricks to lose weight.
However, he emphasized that it is important not to stand for long periods of time as it may increase the risk of developing flat feet in the long run.
Those who want to lose weight without completely changing their lifestyle may find this the perfect way for them.
