A Missouri man said goodbye to bad habits and £ 270 after claiming to change his lifestyle and drop sugar into a “cold turkey.”
Jeff Brinker, 57, said he knew his life was ready for a complete overhaul when his daughter faced him about weight about a year ago.
Blinker weighed the heaviest weight of 540 pounds, even after the first weight loss after undergoing a stomach sleeve (surgery to remove up to 80% of the stomach) in 2016. But she couldn’t keep her weight down.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly half of American adults have tried to lose weight in the last 12 months, with about 67% of these adults being obese and 49% being overweight.
As a salesman for industrial automation equipment, Blinker has traveled and dine on the company’s expense account for 30 years. He said this gave him the freedom to eat whatever he chose, which changed his relationship with food.
“I could always eat what I wanted to eat,” Blinker told KTVI-TV. “So now I’m eating to survive, not what looks good.”
A year ago, Blinker decided to change his life by quitting his bad eating habit, the “cold turkey.”
“I tried several times to make it easier, or to follow some kind of program, and it never got stuck,” Blinker told KTVI-TV. “I just had to bother my head, what do you know, eat less.”
Blinker said he significantly reduced his daily calorie intake and completely reduced all additional sugar, including simple carbohydrates such as white bread and soft drinks.
He started eating 5 meals instead of 3 meals a day, attended the gym and started going to the gym for an hour a day in the morning. Blinker told KTVI-TV that he often chooses exercise bikes and lightweight training.
“Now, strength training and being physically active and healthy are important,” says Blinker.
Most changes appear with a weight loss of about 5-7 percent, according to Dr. W. Scott Butch, director of obesity medicine at the Cleveland Clinic’s Institute for Obesity Metabolism.
“Health benefits occur with a weight loss of 5-7%, which is probably where you’ll see changes in the appearance of others,” Butch said. Newsweek.. “Our weight, or distribution of body fat, depends on age, gender, and ethnicity.”
According to Brinker, his current routine is to go to the gym every morning at 4:30 am, where he does one hour of weight training and 30 minutes of aerobic exercise. He also increased his calorie intake to 1,600 calories per day.
He currently weighs 270 pounds and has lost more than 18 inches from his waist.

In November, she went online after revealing that her husband had criticized her husband for eating less after she had weight loss surgery. Over 1,100 users have commented on this post, with many advocating for women and others suggesting that her husband is probably resentful of her weight loss.
In another Viral Reddit thread, women were criticized for missing their boyfriend’s “chubby” after losing weight. Another woman was accused of demanding a boyfriend’s diet with her, and many users called her behavior a “danger signal.”
