For those who are awake from 5am to prepare for her ITV morning chat show, Lorraine Kelly has a bright air as we catch up with her.
The 62-year-old broadcaster is talking about zooming from behind the car on his way home from ITV’s London studio, with his hair piled high.
She’s as charming as when interviewing her guests, she’s shining – and we feel
Her recent lifestyle review has to do with her extra brilliance.
Since embarking on a healthy life program at WW, formerly known as a weight watcher, in January she not only dropped two dress sizes (weight loss of one and a half stones), but also regained Mojo. say.
“When I started, I was 11 stones 10, but now it’s 10 stones 3,” she tells us.
It’s hard to believe someone who has such confidence on TV, but Scottish TV stars were so unconfident that they declined the red carpet invitation.
The blocked downturn was at the expense of the nights spent cultivating an ever-increasing amount of chocolate and a few glasses of wine.
Breakfast was a croissant or bread to pick up. But Lorraine has been more focused on eating well and living well, so
She says her enthusiasm for life has returned.
Aside from health benefits, her weight loss enriched her relationship – her husband Steve Smith noticed an increase in her energy levels – and she’s now long to finish her job. A day when even their dogs are benefiting because they are taking them for a walk.
Here, some lifestyle changes are ready for her to take on something, such as Lorraine, the mother of Rosie Smith, the daughter of a 28-year-old journalist, returning to her wedding dress 30 years ago. I’ll explain what it means …
Lorraine, we have to say, you look great!
Oh, thank you. It’s very nice not only to wear a baggy shirt dress and try to cover it up, but also to wear the clothes you really want to do.
It has made life much easier. I know I’m not the only one who puts a lot of emphasis on pandemics. I think many of us were eating comfortably.
You have lost one and a half stones. How did it make a difference to you?
I have certainly regained my enthusiasm for life. My confidence has improved significantly. I feel like I can do anything now.
I was just invited to this wonderful opera with my daughter and I wouldn’t have done it before, but now I’m going to everything and it feels great.
I enjoy these experiences. I went to Baftas a few weeks ago, and it’s been a while since I was able to enjoy the evening and give a prize without thinking “Oh, I feel sick” or “I can’t find it.” Anything that fits you anymore. “
Did your husband notice a difference in your attitude?
Steve says, “I’ve got you back” because my energy level has improved. I’m going to do something now, but before I did housework on the weekends and collapsed in front of Terry.
You can now disappear with your dog for two hours before taking a 30-minute break from your dog’s walk. That was good because Steve loves cooking and he enjoys cooking in more flavors and doing more with vegetables.
On Sunday, he makes me a huge pot of vegetable chili soup, which will continue to me every week until lunch. Therefore, he is not participating in the program, but he is certainly benefiting. Neither of us now eats a huge plate of chocolate every night.
Did you think about renewing your vow as you celebrate your 30th wedding anniversary in September?
[Laughs] Well, I was able to get into my wedding dress now … maybe I should do this for our anniversary. Ah, no way! I think there is a party, but there is no other ceremony. Giggle too much.
What made you sign up for WW?
It was a combination of things. As with all of us, I was definitely content with Christmas. I noticed that size 14 is too tight.
To be honest, I should have made it 16 size, but I thought, “No, I don’t want to do that.”And there’s nothing wrong with being size 16 – our model [on Lorraine] The size is 16 – if that’s what you’re expecting and you’re happy or healthy.
But I’m sure we all have the weight to fight, in other words, the size and dress size we feel best. For me, my combat weight is size 10. Being size 16 is not healthy for me. It’s not good because my self-esteem is low and I’m not confident.
What were you eating?
It was a completely comfortable meal. I started with some very small chocolates in the middle of the week, but before I knew it, it was a huge amount – an entire packet of chocolate.
Then I drink two glasses of wine on school night. It can’t be done when you’re awake at 5am. I didn’t have to worry. They were just small ones, but they are all summed up.
How did weight gain affect you?
There was also an event that I refused because I thought I wouldn’t go through it. I would have made an excuse and said no.
My husband always thinks I’m nice, and as you know, they don’t look at your big ass and tummy. But you know your feelings. It’s about self-confidence.
These red carpets are daunting. I’m not good at it. It’s part of the job, but it’s nerve-wracking.
I’m always looking at Amanda Holden and she knows how to lift herself very well, but she doesn’t know where to stand.

What changes have you made to your diet?
It’s not a complete cut of things, but at the weight watcher points you get every day, it makes you much more aware of what you’re eating.
So, instead of a chocolate plate every night, I have something like tangerines, oranges, and maybe a handful of weenuts. When
I love chopping bananas and eating them with my own branded WW Hazelnut Spread. It looks like a very healthy Nutella!
I still eat chocolate on weekends, but not so much.
How has your mental health improved?
It takes a lot of time to upset me, but during the pandemic I woke up at night and realized I was worried.
This plan is also useful for exercise and sleep. I sleep much better, and I make sure I remove my device from my room, which I think will help.
I feel like I’m back in the old days.
