Conversations about costumes inspired by notorious killers known for subjecting their victims’ bodies to disturbing behavior, including necrophilia, cannibalism and dismemberment, surfaced this year in the light of a disastrously popular new Netflix series. Out of respect for the victims’ families and consideration for the affected communities, Internet users are speaking out against the deafening Dahmer costumes this Halloween.

In a statement to buzzfeedthe company claimed the Jeffrey Dahmer costume was “prohibited” and was removed in accordance with a policy prohibiting users from listing items that “promote or glorify violence.”
Other sites such as Amazon sell costumes inspired by Jeffrey Dahmer. These include his recognizable glasses and shirt that read, “I’ll eat a man like you for breakfast.”
It’s unclear if more retail sites will remove items related to the notorious killer, but it’s safe to say that many will find another costume idea for Halloween this year.
