There is nothing blue for this bride. She is “happy” that the coronavirus pandemic actually happened.
From Bridgend in South Wales, Melissa Williams is grateful that the 2020 wedding has been postponed by COVID-19, which recently killed more than 6 million people worldwide and more than 1 million in the United States alone. ..
Finally, after years of “growth”, she was able to lose weight and felt “amazing” on her wedding day.
Williams, who used to be size 30 and weighed over 350 pounds, said he struggled with his weight for the rest of his life. Two years after her original wedding date, 27-year-old Williams wore her new dress and tied a knot with her husband, Chris, 29.
With extra time to prepare for a big day, Williams lost about £ 150 with the help of gastric bypass surgery and was forced to buy a new size 16 gown.
“It was great that day and I’m very happy that the wedding was postponed,” she told Caters News. “I was afraid of the wedding because of the fact that I had to get ready and put on a dress, even though I used to feel scared.”
She “disliked” the first dress she bought, but she didn’t like it and knew that it didn’t look good, but she bought it anyway.
“I’m much bigger as I remember,” she said, adding that she orders Chinese and Indian takeaway dishes four times a week. “I was bulimia nervosa because of my secret eating.”
Weight “sneaking up” on her, she continued, and she was “miserable.”
“I didn’t leave the house, and I separated myself from everyone around me,” she said. “I have completely lost myself.”
Last August, she decided to put her life in her hands.
Her parents, Lynn (67) and Tony James (58), forked about $ 14,000 for gastric bypass surgery after worrying about their daughter.
“My parents were very worried about me and wanted me to get better,” Williams said.
Housewife Williams took her son Charlie, 6, to the amusement park, but she remembered the ride once and simply didn’t fit.
“The bar didn’t go down and I was asked to get off the vehicle,” she said. “I’ve never been as embarrassed as that time.”
She couldn’t be an active mother, so she felt “very bad” for her son.
“Because of my size, I couldn’t even take a walk with him or even run around in the fields,” she said. “I could hardly walk to the end of the street.”
Prior to gastric bypass surgery, she was taking blood pressure medication to deal with back pain. Not only did she feel “humiliated” in her appearance, but she realized that “her health was deteriorating” and “something needed to be changed”.
Thanks to the surgery, she lost £ 150 and gained confidence – and a brand new wedding dress.
“My new dress is size 16, and I was very happy when I looked at myself in the mirror while wearing it,” she spouted. “I felt incredible, and I had a great day without worrying about my weight.”
When she first lost weight, she said she noticed how different her body was. She could “walk for miles” and even go to her gym.
“It was very unrealistic to notice all the changes happening to my body,” said Williams, who recorded her weight loss journey on Instagram as @bypassing_my_problems.
Even her diet has changed. Previously, I ate biscuits and sweet tea for breakfast, McDonald’s Big Mac meals and coke for lunch, Chinese takeouts for dinner, and chewed chocolate and sweets as snacks. Currently she eats protein yogurt and shakes, granola, poached eggs, ham, rice cakes, fruits and nuts.
“I feel better and healthier than ever,” she said. “I am very confident.”
Honeymooners also traveled to Gran Canaria for their honeymoon, where Williams wore a bikini “for the first time” in her life.
“I would normally sweat and hate the heat,” she said. “I didn’t have to cover it, I could wear what I liked. I didn’t have to wear clothes I didn’t like, because only clothes suit me.”
“I felt nice,” she added.
Her Instagram page also has a congratulatory post about her “victory” on vacation, with photos before and after.
“The weight loss after my first vacation was great. I didn’t have a seatbelt extender on the plane. I was able to lower the tray for the first time since I was a teenager and didn’t have to push it into a restaurant seat,” she says. increase. She wrote. “I wore a dress with no shorts underneath and no chub rubs !!! Win win!”
Now she loves to dress up with her friends and hit the city. Because she finally feels comfortable on her skin. But that wouldn’t have happened without the postponed wedding.
“This is the best decision I have ever made and I had the best wedding day I have ever dreamed of,” she said.
