I was always suffering from weight. When I was a kid, I was always a “big” person, but after my third kid, I was a shy 90 kg (14 stones or more). I had a hard time getting off the couch, my back hurt, and I became anxious and depressed. I wanted to change it, but I didn’t know what to do.
During his vacation with his brother in September 2017, he noticed that I was eating three popsicles an hour and asked what was happening. He told me I didn’t have to make big changes at once, I had to start walking a little more. I found him completely right. I had to take responsibility.
It was hard to walk around the blocks, but a few weeks later I started walking to the park. Then I added some home training – even my family was shy to see me training, so I did them in the bedroom. A few months later, I joined the gym and started weight training.
We also changed our diet with an emphasis on increasing protein and vegetable intake. At first I cut out all the carbs, but after reading more about nutrition, I realized that sustained release carbs such as brown rice and sweet potatoes are good for me as they fill you and give you the energy you need. Especially as a busy mom.
I started to lose weight. In half a year I dropped about 25 kilos (almost 4 stones), which was very motivating. But it wasn’t just the number of scales. I loved seeing myself get stronger physically and mentally in terms of doing more and more exercise, like abs. My depression and anxiety have alleviated.
People really started to notice my changes, and around the first blockade, when many people started struggling with their own weight, some friends asked me to help them. .. I created a WhatsApp group and submitted exercises to perform and suggestions for food to eat. It grew with word of mouth and I decided to turn my weight loss program into a real business. It’s very simple. It’s been less than two years, but we’ve helped about 600 women.
I am very proud of how far I have come, both personally and through helping other women. I’m an educated person about diet and fitness right now and I can tell my kids about it. This is knowledge I didn’t know when I was a kid.
