My name is Faith Sloop (@trainingforamazing) and I’m 23 years old. I live in Cleveland, Ohio and am a content creator.compete great race became my goal and motivation.it got me started Incorporate more nutritious foods into your diet and do it every week. I lost 190 pounds.
Prior to my current weight loss journey, I counted calories, restricted, and monitored my weight for as long as I could remember. ), affordable fast food was mostly accessible and convenient.
All my life, I went through many cycles of restricting and overeating. By the time he was 16, the same he had gained and lost 10 pounds a million times. At some point, I stopped weighing myself.
I remember weighing about 400 pounds in my freshman year of college. I was only 18 at the time, and I feared what would happen to my health if I continued down this path.
I had been looking for motivation to get healthy for a while, but things changed in the summer of 2017 when I got a job working as a tour guide at the university’s admissions office.
I had a lot of free time, so I thought it would be fun to spend my time bingeing on TV shows. I opened the Hulu app on my phone and received new show suggestions. great raceWe had 27 seasons, so we took it slow.
Everything changed from that day.I knew immediately that I would do everything in my power to achieve my dream of competing. great raceI also knew that I weighed over 400 pounds and that from where I was at the time, it would take a complete reinvention to make that dream a reality. I decided I had to get healthy that day so I could be on the show one day. (My dream hasn’t come true yet, but it keeps me motivated!)
Having been on a diet since childhood, the best thing I could do was to take it slow.
I didn’t take anything from my diet (carbs, sugar, etc.).Rather, I focused on adding more nutrition from healthy foods. right Instead of getting rid of “bad food,” food worked for me.
This is what I am eating for the day.
-
breakfast: Superfood smoothie (apple, spinach, peanut butter powder, chia seeds, almond milk)
-
lunch: Trader Joe’s Thai Shrimp Dumplings, Edamame, Low Fat String Cheese, Seasonal Fruit
-
snack: dried apricots, rice cakes, popcorn, green peppers
-
dinner: Meatballs, turkey burgers, spaghetti squash with cauliflower tater tots, or veggie-filled stir-fry bowl (brown rice, meat, peppers, onions, pineapple)
-
dessert: Enlightened Ice Cream, Rice Krispies Treats Outperform Strawberry Popsicles
I also started exercising by walking on a treadmill at a slow pace. great race.
That time I gave myself at the gym was classes, assignments, and an escape from responsibilities. I try to jog or run four days a week. I want to participate in my first half marathon this summer!
I like the feeling of moving my body every day, whether it’s a dance workout on YouTube (EMK Fit My absolute favorite) or a walk! I like working out at my own pace, so doing things on my own is always my choice.
I’m not going to lie – I started running because I knew when and when my dream of competing would come great race Once realized, running becomes a pretty important skill. But I love being able to move my body in ways I couldn’t before.
These three changes have helped me lose weight.

Take it slow. I’ve always rushed to lose weight by cutting out and crazily restricting major food groups, and it works for a week, but then I binge again. Things really changed when I started to transform who I was (I made exercise an important part of my life, learned which vegetables and fruits I liked, and incorporated them into my daily diet). I always say to people trying to lose weight, “If you’re not ready to change your lifestyle or habits, you’re not ready to change them at all.”

listen to your body. I now consider myself an “intuitive eater”. Rather, I listen to hunger cues. As a snacker, this has helped curb a lot of the mindless snacking I’m used to. Sometimes I would eat something if I hadn’t eaten in a while. But now I really listen to my body and ask what it needs.

I love moving my body. I love telling people trying to lose weight, “You can lose weight even if you don’t like running, but you don’t have to run a day in your life.” Growing up in America, many of us have come to hate exercise because it’s forced. There are many ways to lose weight, including dancing, swimming, kayaking, and walking. Find what you like and do it!
I lost just over 190 pounds and it took me about 3.5 years.
People often ask me, “How did you stay motivated for so long?” And the truth is I didn’t.What am i Did it It was to wear a habit that I can continue even on days when I don’t feel motivated. People think weight loss has to be constant exercise and salads, but that’s not true.
