When Pink Sauce hit the market in July 2022, it took creator Karlie Pea’s marketing ploy to get the seasoning trending. Unique ingredients in the sauce include dragon fruit, honey, sunflower seed oil and chili flakes.
Pii has captured the attention of TikTok users by using her concoction on everything from Chick-Fil-A to Del Taco menu items.
Shortly after its release, TikTok users began trying out the sauce and sharing their reactions.
Pii’s TikTok popularity waned when customers expressed their displeasure about receiving broken seals, pink sauce nutrition label typos, and unrefrigerated product. Pink Sauce’s viral moment was exacerbated as it considered the potential risks of doing so.
In July, Pii told an insider that she was confident her source would live up to the internet backlash. She “will not allow my entire mission to be taken away by ignorance by someone who does not understand it,” Pea said. “Hey, they mocked Jesus. Who am I?”
The fluorescent pink sauce may be popular on the internet, but it doesn’t look good, and I couldn’t help but want to eat it. Watching TikToker put sauce on just about everything made my eyes hurt and my stomach hurt.
