A Queensland man who exchanged his favorite fast food for a healthier version and lost 60 kg became a hot topic after sharing a “game-changing” McDonald’s McMuffin recipe.
Dez Cerimagic has grown from 135kg to 75kg by creating healthier alternatives to the most popular fast food items, from McDonald’s McChicken burgers and nuggets to Hungry Jack’s Wappers and KFC Ginger Burgers.
More recently, a 22-year-old man from the Gold Coast has enthusiastic about TikTok’s followers after revealing how to make healthy McDonald’s sausages and egg McMuffin at home.
The Macca version contains 23g of protein and 21g of fat, while the Cerimagic version contains 36g of protein and only 14g of fat.
“For a long time, people who wanted to lose weight thought they only had to eat strict, boring and healthy foods,” he told news.com.au.
“But in the long run, it’s not sustainable for most people. People don’t want to eat salads and vegetables all day long.
“I don’t like to think of food as good and bad, but if your goal is to lose weight, you can do it with a few simple exchanges.
“It means that you still have your favorite foods and can lose weight and become healthy.
“I posted a McMuffin recipe and it exploded. I think it’s because I love fast food and think I need to cut it completely if I want to be slim.
“But I’m trying to teach people to think out of the box and still enjoy that kind of meal.”
People were surprised by the simple exchange and commented that many would try it at home.
“This is what I need in my life right now. Thank you for the great breakfast idea,” said one.
“Wow, I can’t believe I have no more calories!” Another comment.
“Prepare breakfast.”
Others have said that McDonald’s “looks better than McDonald’s.”
After reaching 135 kg in his late teens, Cerimagic began creating healthier alternatives. He said this was due to inactivity, a combination of teenage stress and hormones.
However, after switching to a calorie-deficient diet, that is, if you burn more energy than you burn, you can eat whatever you like. He managed to lose 60kg in three years.
“I didn’t realize I was gaining weight, but there was a” click “moment when I realized I needed to change my life,” he said.
“But I didn’t understand the science behind losing weight, so I decided to do a yo-yo with my own weight in the first year.
“Once I understood it, it became much easier.
“Now I love sharing healthy swaps online and educating people about calories and macros.”
