Health Tech has always been a highlight of CES. Both big manufacturers and small start-ups are undergoing major changes, revealing futuristic products in the corner of life that aren’t as dramatic as TV and games. The only exception, of course, is fitness gear. From smartwatches and fitness trackers to exercise machines like Peleton, the gradual update to the workout-related gadgets we already know and love is constantly exploding. Here are some of the most interesting health and fitness gadgets for CES 2022 when you find them. You’ll get the chance to hear more from every corner of the show, so you can expect to see new products every day with this piece.
Withings BodyScan Smart Scale
Withings, a longtime innovator of health technology, adds some interesting new features to (probably) the latest smart scales. The Body Scan Smart Scale, like previous models, can detect information about body composition, such as body fat and muscle mass. Whereas the previous model simply did this for the whole body, the new design allows you to check for specific body parts. In addition to being able to measure gain in the gym more accurately, the scale can get a 6-lead ECG using the handle near the top of the scale. The body scan is expected to be available in late 2022, but according to Gizmodo, the product has not yet been FDA approved and may change timing.
Oral-BiO10 Electric Toothbrush
A surprisingly lively little gizmo, Oral-B’s high-end iO10 smart toothbrush not only uses an indicator light on the brush itself, offloads information to the cell phone, but the brush “coaches” cleaning. Equipped with a charging base to help with. Coaching, a core feature of the iO series, tells you if you’re applying enough pressure and if you’re ignoring part of your mouth when brushing, and provides a timer to ensure you have the right amount of time. ..
Garmin Vene 2 Plus
One of our favorite fitness-oriented smartwatch makers, Garmin has two watches in its pipeline. The Garmin Venu 2 Plus is a slightly smaller update to last year’s Garmin Venu 2 (43mm case compared to 45mm). Both speakers and microphones have been added, voice notifications, and Siri and Google Assistant.
concept
Frequently found in the automotive and computing categories, many companies prefer to create CES “concept” products that showcase technologies that are not ready to be included in shipping products. These ideas are often a bit more futuristic, incredibly cool and exciting. You won’t find these in the store right away, but it’s still hellishly cool.
Y brush 2022
French startup Y-Brush manufactures an alternative toothbrush that looks like a mouthguard. According to the company, the current model can already clean teeth in 10 seconds. This is very impressive. For CES 2022, the company has adopted a new concept version of the brush. This brush has bristles on both sides as well as one side of the Y-shaped mold, further reducing cleaning time. Also, like the Oral-B iO10, the Concept Y-Brush has six vibration modes for different types of cleaning.
