Andhra Pradesh’s Minister of Industry and Information Technology Mekapati Gowtham Reddy, who died of cardiac arrest here on Monday, was a fitness enthusiast and regularly trained in the gym.
On Monday morning, he collapsed at his home in Jubilee Hills and was taken to Apollo Hospital, but was preparing to leave for Jim when he couldn’t be revived. He was 49 years old.

Gowtham Reddy, the son of former MP Mekapati Rajmohan Reddy, received a college education in Hyderabad. He received his Master of Textiles degree from Manchester University of Science and Technology (UMIST) in Manchester, England in 1997. He was one of the directors of the family company KMC Constructions.
Gotham entered politics in the footsteps of his father and was elected to Congress in 2014 by the Atmacour constituency in his hometown of Nerol with a YSRCP ticket.
He maintained his seat in 2019 and became Minister of Industry and Information Technology.
A well-educated and well-defined leader, he has a friendly and friendly personality and is popular among people and even among political rivals.
Opposition leaders recall that he was never a controversial man who never used harsh words, even while criticizing his political rivals.
Gowtham Reddy is survived by his wife Srikirti Reddy, businessman, daughter Sai Ananya Reddy, and son Krishna Arjun.
