A new fitness gym is about to open in North Ridgeville, and the owners are brimming with excitement. The new concept interactive style gym is one of only six in the country. It’s huge in Europe and is slowly making its way to the United States.
Glow Fitness Studio, 39245 Center Ridge Road, will officially open on October 8th at 10am with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Check it out. Snacks and giveaways are also part of the celebration.
“So we’re adding CLE to the fitness map,” co-owner Steve Beckett said in an email. “My wife, Jessica, was introduced to this type of gym in Nashville by her aunt. She fell in love with the concept and decided to open it here in Northeast Ohio. It’s unique in that it’s fully interactive for the user, accommodating all levels of fitness, from young children to silver sneakers, and can be tailored for users with disabilities, from sports teams. ”
Beckett pointed out that this gym is not a franchise gym. Also, the studio does not have treadmills, rowers, bicycles, or strength equipment. It’s all high-intensity interval training (HIIT) style classes on the circuit. Class sizes are small, with only 16 spots available for each session. Keeping classes small gives trainers more individualized attention and fosters a sense of community. Glow Fitness Studio is a unique and innovative experience where the room itself becomes a trainer with interactive floors and walls, motivational music, fun lighting and stunning projections.
“We own it outright, but we’re looking at opening a few of these gyms around Cleveland,” he said. We want to spread great fitness tools to as many people as possible.I have two families who own a business. My wife and I and John and Brittany Brookbank. We are all North Ridgeville residents and live in about We were friends/neighbors for five years.”

Cahoon House has opened: Nearly five years have passed since the city began negotiations to purchase and renovate the historic Wilbur Cahoon Home at 2940 Stony Ridge Road. In June 2019, the city council agreed to purchase the house from Jean A. Fischer, trustee of the Jean A. Fischer Family Revocable Living Trust, for his $200,000. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
From that time on, it was decided that the house would become a museum representing not only the Cahoun family, but the many families that came to Avon in the 1800s. These included familiar Avon names such as Alten, Casper, DeChant, Jameson, Miller, Moon, Nagel, Norton-Townsend, Pickering, Riegelsberger and Schwartz.
City business development consultant Sheri Seroka has worked tirelessly to collect artifacts from these important founding families that were part of Avon’s legacy. Each room in the house is set up as it was in the 1800’s.
A special ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in April of this year, allowing the public to tour the home. The goal is to one day open up the home regularly for everyone to enjoy, and future school excursions Avon will allow students to see the history within the community.
City officials recently announced that the home will be open for tours on Sundays from 1-3pm. Wednesday from 11am to 1pm (hours subject to change). Admission and parking are free. For more information, please contact Nicole Rambo-Ackerman at 440-937-7823.

Weissfield trail update: Residents now have more options for walking trails in the city as new trails open up at Weiss Field, which winds through much of the approximately 79-acre park.
The project was in part because resident Kathleen Satullo built a bridge over the trail, making it a popular route for pedestrians to cross the creek, according to city sources. The bridge was well built, but it could not support multiple pedestrians at the same time.
Several walkers also reported that trail conditions were very rough. At the same time, there was excess mulch that needed to be removed from public works sites. The mulch he had collected throughout the year from the city curbs by chippers. The boardwalk at Wythefield was an ideal spot for leftover mulch. Crews began removing fallen trees and overgrowth from the existing trail.
Once the trail was cleared, the Department of Public Works began designing trails, repairing bridges, and creating a small wildflower garden.
“I couldn’t be more proud to have worked with such a great team,” said Assistant Director of Public Works Darwin Ward in a post on the city’s website. . “We are still working on the trail, but it is reported that it will take about an hour and a half to complete if we were to walk all the way.”
