Can’t drink enough water? This may be the reason why you are unable to reach your weight loss goals. Express.co.uk spoke EXCLUSIVELY to his personal trainer Alexandra Fitay to find out why.
Alexandra’s biggest piece of advice to slim people was not to book gym memberships or overhaul supermarket stores.
Instead, she urged those on a weight loss journey to give up sugary drinks.
An expert explains:
“First, it has no nutritional value and we drink them only because they taste good.”

She continues, “Sugar is an addiction! Even if it’s labeled as ‘low sugar,’ ‘zero sugar,’ or ‘diet,’ the healthiest choice is to try to avoid them as much as possible.
One problem with sodas, according to Health Line, is that they can increase appetite by stimulating hunger hormones, altering sweet taste receptors, and triggering dopamine responses in the brain.
Big fans of diet soda may find themselves reaching for unwanted snacks later in the day than if they were simply drinking water.
Alexandra continues:
Do not miss it…
Many people reach for the cupboard when they should be reaching for the faucet, thinking they are hungry rather than thirsty.
But while water is great for slim people, sipping H20 is no substitute for a healthy, balanced diet.
According to NHS guidelines, a nutritious diet for adults should be combined with 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity per week.
Examples of this include brisk walking, water aerobics, cycling, dancing, and lawn mowing.
Or you can push yourself with 75 minutes of intense intensity activity per week, such as running, swimming, skipping, climbing stairs, or playing sports like soccer or netball.
