New Delhi, Sept. 28 (IANSlife) For thousands of years almonds have been part of Indian traditions and dietary habits and the health benefits of almonds are documented in several Ayurvedic, Unani and Siddha texts. has been widely cited.
A handful of almonds, on the other hand, has satiating properties that promote satiety and can help curb hunger between meals. Not only does it keep us from snacking on junk, but it also ensures our bodies receive nourishment as almonds contain 15 nutrients including vitamin E, magnesium, protein, riboflavin and zinc. .
Try these recipes from the Almond Board of California’s in-house chef.
almonds & chicken thighs (without shell)
material:
Chicken mince – 250 grams
Minced garlic – 1 tbsp
Carrots, finely chopped – 3 tbsp
Green onion, chopped – 3 tbsp
Ginger, chopped – 1 tablespoon
Soy sauce – 1 tablespoon
Oyster sauce – 1 tablespoon
Sesame oil – 1 teaspoon
Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon
Egg – 1 piece
blanched and chopped almonds – 1/2 cup
Oil – for greasing
Method:
Put chicken mince in a bowl.
Add all ingredients except almonds and divide into equal sized balls.
Roll these balls in blanched and chopped almonds and carefully place these small balls on an oiled plate.
Prepare a steamer and steam over high heat for 15 minutes.
Remove the peaches and serve hot.
Tandoori fish crusted with almonds
material:
Almond slivers (unpeeled) – 50 g
John Dory or whitefish – 100 g
Bread crumbs – 15 g
For butter:
Butter – 50g
Ginger and garlic paste – 2 g
Vinegar – 5ml
Kashmiri red chili powder – 2 g
Ajwain – 1 g
Chart Masala – 2 g
salt – to taste
Method:
Wash fish fillets and cut into 4-inch by 1.5-inch pieces.
Pat dry using a clean kitchen cloth.
For masala butter, put the softened butter in a crushed jar along with all the ingredients.
Blitz until butter is not melted and all ingredients are well blended.
Mix the bread crumbs into the masala butter.
Place the fish fillets on an oiled baking sheet and spread about 10 grams of masala butter evenly over each fillet.
Next, peel the fish with almond slices. Bake the buttered fish in an oven preheated to 200°C for 6-8 minutes. Serve hot.
roasted almond kofta
Kofta materials:
Boiled and mashed potatoes – 2 cups
Nutmeg – a pinch
milk – 2 tbsp
Crushed almonds – 3/4 cup
Chopped green onions – 1/2 cup
All-purpose flour – 1 tbsp
Egg – 1 piece
Salt – 3/4 teaspoon
Pepper – 1/2 teaspoon
Materials for crushing:
Eggs – 2
Refined wheat flour – for rolling
Dried bread crumbs – for rolling
Method:
Place the mashed potatoes in a bowl and add the almonds, salt, pepper, nutmeg, milk, green onions, flour and 2 eggs.
Mix them well and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Roll them into kofta of the same size.
Place flour, beaten egg, and bread crumbs on separate plates.
Cover each kofta with flour and dip it in the beaten egg.
Then roll the breadcrumbs well.
Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake the kofta until golden brown. Serve hot.
