No matter what diet you try (and if you’re like us, you’ve tried many), the first recommendation is to drink plenty of water. Take it with you and drink it throughout the day. So why are so many women over the age of 40 still chronically dehydrated while their weight stays the same? After all, our cells have a hard time absorbing plain water.
James DiNicolantonio, Pharm.D, author obesity correction (Purchase from Amazon, $9.99 on Kindle) explains, “True hydration is about replacing lost salts and minerals in addition to water.”
Like many of us, a lack of sodium, potassium, or magnesium can leave you dehydrated at the cellular level, making you feel extra overeating. Look for food like a bag of salty potato chips to get it.”
And as we get older, those cravings become harder to read. Quench“But after a lifetime of learning to ignore our thirst, that mechanism becomes numb.”
Warning: In some cases, avoiding salt can lead to weight gain
A low-sodium diet, which doctors have recommended for decades, may absorb twice as much fat for every gram you consume. According to a mouse study conducted at the University of Iowa. “The idea that salt can regulate fat storage is a whole new idea,” says James DiNicolatonio, Ph.D. “Salt is not the devil we once thought it was,” says integrative physician Dana Cohen, M.D.
Her advice for getting health benefits? “Start salting water, not food, with pink Himalayan salt, rock salt, or Celtic sea salt, which contains all kinds of minerals.”
Important note: Please consult your doctor before continuing. This is especially important if you have high blood pressure.
simple water addin
It takes more than plain water to overcome the craving and the hidden thirst it represents. The point is to mix the amino acid glycine with the electrolyzed water. “Glycine improves sodium absorption, thus improving the rehydration capacity of electrolyte water and counteracting false hunger,” says Dr. DiNicolantonio. Glycine has also been shown to reduce glucose spikes from carbohydrate-rich meals and boost fat burning.
That’s why Jorge Cruz, bestselling author of over 20 books, added glycine to his Zero Hunger Water recipe for weight loss. Women sip the DIY mix during the day and are very satisfied! TV personality Dorinda Medley, 57, stubbornly lost her 14 pounds and said: Very powerful. What is surprising is how quickly the weight is lost. ”
Cruz adds: Glycine makes Electrolyte Water three times more potent than hers and radically controls hunger. ”
Even better, sipping this supercharged water allows women to continue intermittent fasting, paving the way for incredible benefits. It is also an important step during fasting because it can help you avoid .
Cruz, who has created a new lifestyle plan focused on Zero Hunger Water, says many of his clients only eat one meal a day. If he needs a snack, he enjoys “cheat treats” of pure fat and fiber. This tricks your body into thinking you’re fasting while optimizing fat burning. These treats control cravings without breaking the fasting window and help women lose weight.
According to Jason Huang, M.D., the world’s leading authority on intermittent fasting: In my clinical experience, women achieve better weight loss results with longer fasts than men. ”

Electrolyte mixtures to try
“Ensuring you’re getting enough minerals makes dieting and intermittent fasting easier,” says doctor Jason Huang. Below are two delicious ways to kill electrolyte cravings and gain fat-blasting power.
To create your own electrolyte mixture, you will need:
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (such as real Redmond salt)
- 1/4 teaspoon glycine powder (like NOW)
- 1/8 teaspoon potassium chloride powder (such as Nutricost)
- 1/16 teaspoon magnesium glycinate powder (such as Doctor’s Best)
Instructions: Add all ingredients to a water bottle and mix well. Add 16 ounces of filtered water and shake. Drink all day to quench your cravings, replenishing as needed.
Nutrition Facts Table: Each bottle contains approximately 500 milligrams (mg) of sodium, 500 mg of glycine, 200 mg of potassium, and 60 mg of magnesium. For optional flavors, add 1 packet of TRUE Orange, Grapefruit, or Lime Crystal Flavors and flavor with Stevia or Monk Fruit.
Too busy to measure your mix? Try ready-blended electrolyte-mineral packets like LMNT (buy from Amazon, $45 for a 30-pack), plain or flavored. , or add to summer mocktails.
Note: Consult your doctor before changing your intake, especially sodium and electrolytes. if you have high blood pressure or cardiovascular problems.
plan to get started
Cruz, who has been helping women slim down for 20 years, says his plan “works like magic.” Follow these tips for a month.
- Quench your hunger. When you wake up, start drinking electrolyzed water. Aim for four 16-ounce bottles daily. “Properly hydrating with these electrolytes will help you feel less hungry,” Cruz says.
- Respect fasting periods. You can make fasting easier by eating breakfast one hour later each day. But if you’re hungry, try eating a fast-mimicking cheat (see below) at 10am and noon. It helps extend the duration.
- Protein for dinner. Eat a protein-rich meal around 6pm, such as salmon, chicken, or steak. A woman on the plan tends to follow her OMAD (one meal a day) schedule, but it is not required. Cruz suggests eating all meals within three hours. My number one botanical picks, then, are squash and berries.
- add movement. “Exercise soon after waking up will boost your metabolism and feel-good serotonin, making it easier to fast,” promises Cruz. Aim for eight minutes of exercise in the morning. March in place or try punching through the air at a 7 out of 10 intensity level. “You should be able to talk while doing these movements,” Cruise explains.
Interested in long fasting periods? Simply eating breakfast 90 minutes later than usual and dinner 90 minutes earlier than usual can help you lose weight, as opposed to eating on a regular schedule.
