The dish consists of delicious poached eggs and delicious chunky tomatoes and pepper sauce. Now actor and singer Diljit Dosanzi has given his spin to the classic Shakshouka recipe. Dirgit shares a recipe he likes to call “Shak Chuka” in his Instagram story. And don’t miss his hilarious commentary behind the video. - Olive oil 30Ml
- 80 grams of onion (diced)
- 10 grams of chopped garlic
- 60 grams of ripe tomatoes (diced)
- 8 grams of tomato paste
- 8 grams of smoked paprika powder
- Cumin powder 5 grams
- Cayenne pepper powder 10 grams
- Salt if you like
- Dried herbs
- Egg 6
- 10 grams of parsley (chopped)
Method:
Step 1: Heat a large saucepan over medium heat and pour in olive oil. Once the oil is properly heated, add the onions and cook until golden. Next, add cayenne pepper.
Step 2: Add chopped garlic and dried herbs. Cook for a few more minutes.
Step 3: Pour the tomatoes and mash them with a spatula.
Step 4: Stir the sauce and bring to a boil. Now, reduce the heat and keep it low.
Step 5: Add all the remaining spices and seasonings. Boil on low heat for 15 minutes.
Step 6: Make 4-8 dibots in the sauce and break the egg. Lightly season.
Step 7: Reduce the heat as low as possible, cover and cook for about 10 minutes until the eggs just set.
Step 8: Open the lid and serve with parsley.
The recipe doesn’t get better. You can also add peppers to add more classic aromas and flavors to your dishes.
