concord, california, December 21, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Today, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for Adoption of Standards for Healthcare Attachment Transactions and Electronic Signatures, and Changes to Proof of Referral and Authorization Standards. The rule proposes and mandates new standards to support both medical claims and pre-approved transactions, as well as standards for electronic signatures used in conjunction with medical attachment transactions. This rule is open for public comment for 90 days starting December 21, 2022. The proposed implementation date must be complied with within 24 months of publication of the final rule.
