Delaware DOI appoints director of health care delivery

Cristine Vogel has been appointed Director of Value-Based Healthcare Delivery for the Delaware Department of Health.

As the founding director, Vogel will lead efforts related to value-based care, primary care, pharmaceutical and pharmacy benefit administrators, affordability, and other health policy initiatives, including subsidy programs.

“Ensuring access and affordability to healthcare and prescriptions is more important than ever,” said Trinidad Navarro, Commissioner of Insurance. “Hospital prices, drug costs, and poor quality services all drive up the price of consumer care and insurance coverage. You can continue.”

Vogel has over 25 years of healthcare management experience with experience in hospitals and medical practices, state government, insurance, and consulting. Vogel, who leads the Office of Value-Based Healthcare Delivery, establishes, implements, and monitors affordability standards, such as those for increasing investment in primary care, and manages the reporting of career investment in health care. increase. This includes evaluating commercial reimbursement rates for primary and chronic health services, the role of price and utilization in health care costs, and prescription drug spending as drivers of total health care costs.

Vogel most recently served as Director of the Nuvance Health System’s Population Health Initiative in Connecticut, by integrating behavioral health into nursing care management programs, clinical pharmacy programs, and primary care practices. Her experience in healthcare reform includes leading the Office of Healthcare Access in Connecticut and assessing required certifications. Funded by the department, the position was made necessary by several legislative mandates related to health care affordability and pharmacy benefits.
