The humiliating theme park ride was the last straw that motivated a Kobe man to drop six stones and get in shape. So he was able to enjoy his days with his partner.
Nick Goode, a member of the slimming group, is a stranger on a thrilling ride to return to junk food habits, restore years of weight loss, and use specially modified wide seats. And had to replace the seat.
Instead of sitting next to my partner Vikki Nick, I was sitting with my family. The father had to change seats because Nick couldn’t safely squeeze into the seat.
He said: “It was embarrassing and humiliating. I had to endure the glares of my family when we disembarked while I was waiting for Vicki after boarding.
“We booked a vacation to Disneyland Paris and were really looking forward to it. As the months went by, we gained weight and had to use adapted seats for our vehicles. The bar made me safe. I didn’t click on. I was forced to switch seats with the father of a young family, who had to sit behind with Vicki. “
Live event enthusiast Nick gained weight after eating high-fat foods such as burgers, chips and kebabs at gigs and soccer games.
Nick, who worked in a supermarket, was feeling sick and tired due to the lifestyle of eating on the go.
He states: “I was exhausted when I was moving my legs all day. I was always uncomfortable and embarrassed when I wore a flattering uniform.”
Inspired by partner Vikki to lose weight before a lifetime trip to Florida in 2017, the pair joined the Slimming World group and lost five stones.
After the vacation, their motivation dropped and by 2019 they dropped out, leading to Disneyland’s embarrassment.
At the beginning of January 2020, Nick and Vicki decided to return to Slimming World.
He said, “I knew it worked before. I was scared to walk the group door again, but the consultants and other members welcomed us from the first night and we left. It didn’t seem like it had ever happened. “
During the blockade, they still virtually attended their group-above their weight goal.
In April, their regular consultants were unable to continue the switch to be supported by Sonia Mathison’s Tuesday night group at the Raven Hall Hotel.
Now the pair has achieved their weight loss goal-Nick hit his 6-stone award and Vicki won her 4.5-stone award the same night.
Nick used to wear two oversized shirts, but his jeans used to have a 40-inch waist, but now have 34-inch trims.
Nick, an employee of the Kobe Windows Group, said: Find a local subway or Nando’s where you can make healthier choices.
“Groups are like families. They really want you to succeed and always jump in with ideas to help me get going. Someone has proposed a change. I think it’s great when prompted to add.
“It’s great to be able to experience what you’re experiencing and discuss issues with like-minded people who really help you.”
The couple are now enthusiastic cyclists, quit driving to local stores and using stairs instead of lifts.
Group consultant Sonia said, “I am very pleased that Nick and Vicki chose to join our group. They not only attend weekly, but also actively support and motivate other members. Wake up. When they first joined, it was clear that they were nervous and a little worried. What to expect in the group, but they really made it theirs, and The result is proof of that. “
