As a personal trainer, many of my clients ask me about the training they come across online. One client asked if it was justified to train an arm without weights, other than basic strength training exercises such as push-ups and triceps.
One of the popular weightless arm workouts for rounds is Blogilates’ “light weight” arm workouts designed by founder Cassey Ho.
Ho is a Certified Pilates Instructor and her brand Blogilates offers a ton of training videos online. After seeing one of her weightless arm workouts on TikTok, I decided to try her routine on YouTube for two weeks and track my progress before and after her photo.

What is Blogilates Weightless Arm Training?
Arm training is a device-free upper body training routine focused on conditioning the shoulders, biceps, triceps, and upper back. It’s only 13 minutes long, but keep your arms up for the entire workout.
During your workout, run a new exercise every minute based on your previous exercise. The entire training can be done sitting or standing and does not require any equipment. Workouts don’t move very fast and probably don’t sweat (I didn’t). In fact, one day I wore pajamas and trained!
I tried Blogilates weightless arm training: results after 2 weeks
As a personal trainer who loves to make changes to clients, whether they want to get started slowly or simply don’t have access to the device, I try this arm workout without the device and feel and see the difference. I wanted to see if I did. In my arms a few weeks later.
I tried training every two weeks, during which time I was given time to recover my muscles. It wasn’t really difficult to fit this into my busy schedule. Only 13 minutes of pop was so simple and effective, and as I said, I didn’t even sweat! So I could easily squeeze it whenever I had 15 minutes to spare.
You may not see a big difference, but I felt My arms, especially my shoulders, are very different. When you move, your arms will be firm and less swaying. They feel slim on my workout top and I feel they don’t touch the sides of my body too much. In addition, there is less tension in the neck muscles, and the upper back feels stronger. This has been a struggle for several months. By combining strength training without actually lifting the dumbbells, I think I was able to strengthen my arms without straining other muscles around my arms and shoulders (neck, etc.).
What I liked about Blogilates weightless arm training
You don’t need any equipment — what do you hate about it? !! That is the first selling point of this routine that I loved. The next thing I liked was that without the dumbbells, I realized that I was actually participating in a workout because I had to be aware of my body and pay attention to contracting my muscles with each movement. That is.
I liked the “walnut crusher” and “roofing” exercises. I felt the muscles in the upper back functioning without straining my neck. This can be difficult with weighted exercises.
I also felt that the shoulder girdle and rotator cuff were stronger and stronger. In particular, there is the problem that the shoulder joint is too flexible. After doing this routine for a few weeks, I found it easier to pose the board with the upper back almost perfectly shaped, as I felt the shoulder joints were more stable.I really liked the movement to improve mobility When Shoulder strength — difficult to do when holding dumbbells or resistance bands.
What I didn’t like about Blogilates weightless arm training
In any workout, doing the same thing several times a week can be a bit repetitive. After a few trainings, while appreciating the fact that I remembered the routine, I can see how some people might get bored.
I also kept my arms raised for 13 minutes, so it was difficult to prevent the traps from engaging too much. Sure, I had to lower my arm every few minutes to reset it, but after a few workouts I was able to keep my arm long without pain, which made me feel very good!
It was also difficult to use muscles for some exercises. Some of them felt like stretches.
