As a plus-sized kid, Keila Ravende lived through Barbie for generations.
Her parents gave her a doll every week as a reward for dealing with her rapid weight gain.

Despite tilting the scale at 155 kg with her heaviest, she never stopped her size XXXXL from dressing like her favorite doll.
But she knew she needed to get over her weight completely after a “frustrating” experience where she couldn’t get dressed in an airplane seat.
So, now 37 years old from Sydney, but now living in Las Vegas, after losing a staggering 92 kg after gastric sleeve surgery, the size has shrunk to a maximum of 11 dress sizes.

Her parents tried everything they could imagine to help Keila after noticing her rapid weight gain as a child.
“I was always at the doctor, nutritionist, nutritionist … I was trying to understand why I was overweight at such a young age,” she says.
“So, as a reward I had to deal with everything, my parents bought me Barbie every week because I loved everything about her and her style.
Growing up as a plus-size kid, I had to wear plus-size women’s clothing, so I lived through Barbie-Keira Ravende for generations.
“Growing up as a plus-size kid in the 90’s, I had to wear plus-size women’s clothing. I didn’t have many fun choices, so I’m alive through Barbie. She gives me creativity. And urged me to start making my own clothes.

As an adult, Keila, dressed in sizes 26-28, realized she was hungry all day long before eating unhealthy food before bedtime.

Her turning point came in 2018 when she turned to gastric sleeve surgery, which removed 80% of the stomach.
“After the surgery, I was excited and felt like a brand new woman with the new start I needed. I was mentally clear,” she says.
“But I knew it wasn’t everything, not everything. I knew I had to change my entire lifestyle. Obviously thanks to surgery, my part Has become much smaller, but I have learned everything about nutrition, and what my body needs and wants. “
She learned how to refuel her body with healthy, nutritious foods.
“I eliminated carbohydrates, sugar and processed foods. I incorporated high-protein foods and dietary preparations,” she said.
“I also started exercising every day. I started walking, then jogging. Now I start jogging every morning. I also started weight training.”
It took me two years to lose 92 kg after surgery. She later removed the excess skin around her skin.

Her quick and effective exercise routine is to “run for a minute and then walk for a minute.”
“I repeat this for 20 to 30 minutes, which ensures that my heart rate rises, moves, and sweats quickly. I do this daily and do weight training three times a week,” she says. increase.
Looking back at the old photos, Keila says she is “proud” of herself.

When it comes to her fashion, Keila, now wearing sizes 6-8, is still inspired by her favorite childhood doll.
