Benenden’s mother, who suffers from incurable cancer, has set up a charity to help those who are fighting their diagnosis to fight the condition through exercise.
Danielle Hambridge founded Rage IV. It offers free annual membership in gyms and fitness clubs for people with or receiving cancer.
The 32-year-old was said to have stage 4 breast cancer in November 2018, just six months after her daughter Joey was born.
It soon spread to her liver and her condition became incurable.
But now, three years later, after six rounds of rigorous chemotherapy, tests now show that there is no evidence of illness.
While she is in remission, the cancer may recur at some stage in the future.
Mrs. Hamburg said she was convinced that the exercise played a major role in her recovery and set up a charity to help those who are experiencing their own fights to enjoy the benefits of physical activity. increase.
She states: “When I was first diagnosed, I just had a baby and was planning to get married, so I felt very cruel.
“At that time, I thought cancer was black and white, but would it cure or die? I didn’t think I could live for quite a long time if I could find a really effective treatment.
“For me, I have stage 4 cancer and that wouldn’t change, but my story could have been very different and I think it’s for many people. I know.
“That’s why I’m lucky and I want to do something for others.”
Rage IV was officially launched last month and is already helping cancer patients maintain their health and social isolation.
Mrs. Hamburg, who runs herself from her home in Benenden, offers to pay a membership fee of up to £ 2,000 to make access to local facilities for anyone in the UK who has been diagnosed.
She states: “Exercise is very beneficial for cancer patients, but many cannot afford to exercise because they spend less time at work or have a partner who must be a caregiver.
“I wanted to have an exercise built into the patient’s care plan so that the patient didn’t have to worry about money.
“When I received my first application and set up a woman, she was really emotional and saw how happy she was and realized that I was doing the right thing.
“I’m really excited to see her journey because you want to feel alive and have your body pushed to remind you that you’re still here.
“When I got the first application and set up a woman, she was really emotional and saw how happy she was and realized I was doing the right thing … “
“It’s not about doing so much that you tire yourself, but what you can do when you can.
“People think about gym membership and when they can actually go to swimming or yoga classes, think about weightlifting and extensive aerobic exercise. It reduces social isolation, mentally and physically. To maintain good health. “
