Healthy eating out options seem to be more prevalent in recent years, at least compared to the days when hamburger, pizza and chicken joints dominated fast food and fast casual spaces.
One of the latest concepts to take part in the battle is Via Bowl, a chain of restaurants that is concentrated in Florida but gradually expanding its territory to the north. In our area, the only place is in Maryville, so last week, The GrubSpouse and I headed to check out their healthy food.
Their bowls include high-quality ingredients such as spinach, kale, oats, and granola, as well as a variety of fruits such as bananas, mangoes, kiwis, and pineapples, as well as the less familiar acai (acai palm fruit) and pitaya. I am using the fruits of. Fruits of some cactus species. For example, the acai bowl is a blend of strawberry and banana and features acai fruit topped with granola, strawberry, banana, blueberry, coconut shavings and honey.
Other bowl options include pitaya bowls, green bowls (spinach and kale), summer breeze bowls, and tidal wave bowls (made by Spirulina). I ordered a medium amount of oatmeal bowl ($ 8.35). Whole grain oatmeal topped with granola, strawberries, bananas, blueberries and honey.

Meanwhile, Bahia Bowles also offers wraps such as Southwest, Sunshine Cobb, Spinach and Strawberries, and Caesar. Instead, the spouse chose one of the four toast recipes, Loaded Avocado Toast ($ 7.25). This is a slice of toasted multi-grain bread topped with avocado mash, hard-boiled egg slices, tomatoes, olive oil and all bagel seasonings.
We have also found several ways to satisfy our collective sweet teeth while enjoying the benefits of healthy ingredients. First, Bahia Bowles offers 12 smoothie recipes, from fruity to nutty. I decided to try the nut case smoothie ($ 8.45), which is a blend of banana, peanut butter, nutella and almond milk.
They also sell a ball-up good container called Protein Bite ($ 5.95). They are offered in 5 flavor combos. Got whole grain oats, peanut butter, chocolate chips, whey protein, coconut shavings, and PB & chocolate chips made from honey. Other protein bite choices include mocha, banana bread, strawberry almonds, and carrot cake.
My spouse and I requested an empty table in the dining area and waited for an order. The air conditioning was a bit too high for my level of comfort, but at least the space was a cool haven from the heat of summer. I think it’s been less than five minutes before employees announce our name. And we went to get a meal from the counter.
My regular bowl was sweet and satisfying and very full. While I was able to control the proportion of bite-sized oat base with bananas, strawberries and blueberries on top, the honey that combines oatmeal and granola really adds a lot in terms of flavor and sweetness. Did. Even after finishing the fruit topping, a lot of oatmeal remained. I took it home and later finished it with my fruit material inventory.
The avocado toast was also seemingly substantial thanks to the thick slices of bread and the thick layers of avocado. Eggs and tomatoes were fragrant decorations. At the sweet end of our experience, the golf ball-sized protein bite was satisfyingly delicious, and we steadily drained the smoothie from its plastic cup. The flavor of peanut butter was predominant, but the delicacy of bananas and nutella was somehow peeped.
When all that was said, we felt as if we had a complete meal, but at the same time we enjoyed a healthy amount of fresh fruit and even some sweet notes along the way. I was able to. Based on the steady flow of patrons coming and going during the visit, I think the location of Maryville in Bahia Bowl has already found a base of customers who appreciate it for the same reason. There are places in the Knoxville area that take a healthy cooking-like approach, but if you live in Blount County, you don’t have to spend extra gas to eat at least with a bowl.
