She seems to have her own way of cutting open an avocado and removing the stones, but one social media influencer believes she’s found the “safest way.” One half of Twin Coast, a cooking duo who runs a cooking blog together.
Foodies post recipes and cooking hacks on TikTok, Instagram, Youtube, and blogs. Ashley said she discovered the avocado hack after injuring herself trying to remove an avocado stone with her knife.
In a video posted to Youtube Shorts, Ashley said, “I don’t know about you guys, but I fell victim to carving up an avocado.
“I think a lot of people have the same problem because they cut it open and hit it to get the seed out. But today I’m going to show you a safer way. Honestly, many I think I can save my palm..”
The first and only step where you’ll need a knife is when you gently slice the avocado in half. Do this from top to bottom around the outer edge of the fruit, stopping when the knife hits the pit.

The YouTube video has been liked more than 2,000 times by followers and commentators share their thoughts on the hack.

To use a stone to remove the stone from the avocado, cut the avocado as you normally would and twist it open. Then place a spoon behind the curve of the seed and use it as leverage. At this point the stone pops out easily. You can also use a spoon to gently remove the fruit from the peel.
