The RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback are powerful enough, but that didn’t stop Audi from introducing new performance variants.
Scheduled to go on sale in Germany on December 8th for €135,000, the model has an upgraded 4.0-liter V8 engine with a larger turbocharger and increased boost pressure. Thanks to these changes, the engine develops an additional 30 hp (22 kW / 30 PS) and 37 lb-ft (50 Nm) of torque.
With the extra power, output reaches an impressive 621 hp (463 kW / 630 PS) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque. This allows the model he can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds. This is 0.2 seconds faster than its standard counterpart.

Both cars are fitted with the RS Dynamic Package, which adds dynamic all-wheel steering, a rear quattro sport differential and a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h). Customers looking for more performance can opt for the RS Dynamic Package Plus, which includes a carbon-ceramic braking system that is 75 pounds (34 kg) lighter than the steel braking system. Optional packages increase top speed to 190 mph (305 km/h).
The performance upgrade doesn’t stop there, as both models lose insulation, allowing drivers to hear the twin-turbo V8 better. This change also resulted in a weight savings of 17.6 lbs (8 kg), allowing the RS7 to tip the scales at 4,553 lbs (2,065 kg) compared to the RS6 Avant’s performance of 4,608 lbs (2,090 kg). I can do it.
Elsewhere there is a new self-locking center differential that is “lighter and more compact” to improve driving dynamics. The steering system has also been upgraded to be “more precise” and the eight-speed automatic transmission offers faster shifts.
In terms of styling, the performance variant is fitted with 21-inch aluminum wheels featuring a 10-spoke star design. You can also opt for the larger 22-inch His wheels that come in a variety of finishes, from matte black to matt gold. It also features a motorsport-inspired design that helps cool the brakes. Additionally, each 22-inch wheel is approximately 11 pounds (5 kg) lighter than his 22-inch wheels on the standard model.
Cooler brakes and lighter weight aren’t the only benefits, as the 22″ wheels come with new Continental Sport Contact 7 tires. Audi says it offers better grip on wet and dry roads, shorter braking distances and improved handling.
Buyers can also find a revised color palette that includes matte and metallic Ascari Blue and Matte Dew Silver. The model also has matte gray exterior accents, but a matte carbon package will be available.
Inside, the traditional red and gray accents are complemented by a new blue option. If selected, the driver can find contrasting blue stitching on his Alcantara-wrapped steering wheels, his floor mats, and the center console. Paired with blue seat belts and perforated Valcona leather seats with blue contrast stitching.
Note: In the UK there are Performance, Performance Carbon Black and Performance Carbon Forsprung versions starting at £112,650 (OTR). Replaces the standard RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback.
