| Dinesh Edem, MD has joined the Arkansas Medical College (UAMS) as an assistant professor in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, School of Medicine.
Edem has triple board certification in obesity medicine, internal medicine and endocrinology. He directs a weight management program at UAMS for diabetic or pre-diabetic patients who are considered obese. He sees patients at the UAMS Neighborhood Clinic in Little Rock’s 11300 Financial Center Parkway. The clinic number is 501-614-2340.
He also sees general endocrine patients at the UAMS Endocrine Clinic who are particularly interested in type 1 and type 2 diabetes, thyroid disorders, and male hypogonadism.
He came to UAMS from Indiana University Health in Lafayette, Indiana and was a clinical assistant professor of endocrinology from July 2017 to December 2021. He received endocrinology fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh. He is a resident of endocrinology at Johns Hopkins University / Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. Prior to that, he earned a medical degree in 2009 from Topiwala National Medical University in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
