A couple of Skelmersdale shared an impressive weight loss after finding a bride who couldn’t wear a wedding dress because she gained weight during the blockade.
Abbey Morris and Ryan King were scheduled to tie a knot in April 2020, but like many others, their important day was postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions.
As the blockade continued, both Abbey and Ryan gained weight, and she was no longer wearing a wedding dress to become a bride.
Ryan’s mother, Debbie, had previously lost weight in Slimming World, so she soon joined Liz’s new Skelmersdale consultant when everything in the group became clear.

Debbie quickly returned to his target weight and recommended that he and his son be daughter-in-law immediately.
In June, Abbey and Ryan began joining the Greenhill Community Hub group to begin their weight loss journey. The pair was worried because they weren’t huge vegetable lovers and didn’t know if the plan would work for them.
Liz reassured them that there are still many ways to plan and lose weight, and encouraged them to try different things.
Currently, Abbey, who lost 8 pounds of 1 stone, and Ryan, who lost 5.5 pounds of 2 stones, are eating a diet made from scratch, both on a weight loss journey.
Abbey is amazed at the result and the change in her body shape.
She states: “I even chose a new wedding dress. It’s something I love and I can’t completely believe how my shape has changed. We’re much healthier than before joining Slimming World and this year I can’t wait for the wedding that was rescheduled in April.
“Slimming World is very easy to follow. You don’t have to feel hungry so you don’t feel like you’re on a diet. I’ve definitely increased the range of foods I eat now.”
Liz, their consultant, said: “I’m happy that Abby and Ryan have reached their target weight. I can’t wait to see the wedding photos that make the bride, groom and groom’s mom look very attractive.”
Liz’s Slimming World Group will take place Thursday morning at Evermoor Hub (formerly Digmua Community Center) at 9:30 am and Saturday morning at Greenhill Community Hub at 7.30 and 9.30 in Skelemersdale.
