There is no shortage of diet plans around, but unfortunately many people work hard to stick to them and only gain weight back soon after quitting.
Being unable to control your weight not only puts your physical health at risk, but it can also have psychological consequences such as low self-esteem, anxiety, and even depression.
LloydsPharmacy’s medicinal weight loss services offer new solutions to achieve lasting and healthy weight loss, revitalizing not only the body but also the mind.
Since its launch in 2020, it has helped more than 12,000 individuals improve their weight management, and to date, has resulted in more than 77,000 kg of weight loss with great success.

Chloe Turvey remained discouraged as she realized she wasn’t getting anything from her normal diet and found herself in a “vicious circle” from which she couldn’t get out.
“I’ve always had weight issues. I was big since I was a kid,” she says. “I’ve been on a lot of diets, but I can’t keep up. It’s a limitation – I’m hungry, so I binge. It’s a vicious cycle.
During the lockdown, the musician reached 18 Stone, severely impacting his quality of life.
“I had a hard time walking. I had terrible sciatica in my back and my knees hurt a lot. I’m quite short at 5’4” so it was quite heavy to carry.
“Then one night I came home from work and took a bath, but I couldn’t get out because I was too heavy and my back hurt. I was.
Not long after, she was shopping with her grandparents when she passed Lloyd’s Pharmacy and saw an advertisement for a medicated weight loss service.
As soon as I started the program, I saw immediate results, losing 10 pounds in the first week and 23 pounds in the first month. In less than six months, this climbed to 61 pounds.

Her medication contains ingredients naturally occurring in the body that stimulate the part of the brain that regulates appetite.
As a result, Khloe eats one-third less than she used to and enjoys occasional treats like chocolate.
At a healthier weight, her fitness has improved and she enjoys running around her hometown of Bath and attending pole exercise classes.
“It was my last option,” admitted rock band frontman Chloe.
“I decided to stick with it with all my beliefs. So far the money is well spent.”
Like Khloe, Wendy Burke, a mother of seven, has lost most of the weight. For three months, through this program, she managed to lose 10% of her weight and became happier and more confident.
A caregiver from Aylesbury had tried numerous diets over the years, but felt she was fighting a ‘losing battle’.
“I used to lose a few pounds, but I was gaining back,” she says.
“Each time I went up a size, I felt depressed, but the fear of getting diabetes prompted me to do something about it.”
After reading about it in the newspaper, Wendy made an appointment at her local Lloyd’s Pharmacy to find out more about medicated weight loss services.
“The pharmacist was really nice,” says Wendy. “He went over all my measurements, explained that both my BMI and weight were high, and then told me how the service would work with professional support.
Wendy says: It was a godsend!
“Within a few days, my medicine arrived at the store and I haven’t looked back since.”
The program combines prescription drugs with ongoing advice and support from a pharmacist to help keep you motivated.
The drug comes in the form of quick and easy daily injections that help reduce appetite and, as a result, eat less.
Along with a calorie-controlled diet and increased exercise, it has been proven to help people lose weight.
When Wendy started the program she was 13 pounds, but after three months she was down to 10 pounds with a BMI of 27.
So how did a medicated weight loss service help you achieve results that all these diets failed to achieve?
“It felt different to talk to the pharmacist about my weight. It felt like I was doing it for health reasons, not just for weight loss,” says Wendy. “Their encouragement was really important. It spurred me on.”
A healthier weight has transformed Wendy’s fitness and allowed her to do things she never enjoyed before, like riding a bike with her 14 grandchildren.
“I’ve always been active because of my busy work schedule, but now I can do big hill climbs and my knees don’t hurt,” she says.
“In general, I’m a lot happier and more confident. It’s been a godsend!
