Jessica’s weight loss journey isn’t over yet. Just a few months ago she started in April and she has already lost nearly 3 stones. A Wolverhampton junior doctor told Express.co.uk how she did it.
Studying medicine at a university in Manchester, Jessica’s life was busy and stressful. She was coping with “too many unhealthy meals and takeouts.”
she said: A super cheesy and greasy meal followed by a large chocolate-like dessert. I thought that food was a reward, so I was able to eat a high-calorie meal as a reward. “
As a result, the 26-year-old man gained weight and continued to gain weight even after he graduated and started working as a junior doctor.
“I love my job, but working long hours and busy shifts used up all my energy,” she explained. I was making

“I kept gaining weight and it became very difficult for me to participate in my favorite hobby, netball.
“I realized I wasn’t playing as well as I used to because I was slower because of the extra weight. I felt like I wasn’t good enough and left the team.”
Jessica’s weight was affecting not only her physical health, but her mental health as well. She continues: Both the unhealthy diet and lack of exercise were definitely affecting my mood.
“I was tired all the time, and it was hard to do the simplest things like grocery shopping. I was looking for clothes that would make me feel good.
“I remember being upset in the locker room because the size 18 clothes I chose were too tight and the shop didn’t have a larger size. I wasn’t the bubbly, happy Jess I used to be.”

However, while stationed at GP practice, Jessica met “several receptionists doing the slimming world.”
“They told me all about it,” she recalled. “But after a few months, when I found out that my girlfriend’s BMI was in the obese category and that she had high blood pressure, I finally got the courage to join the group.”
Jessica joined other “friendly and relatable” Slimers at Slimming World in April of this year and has been attending weekly sessions ever since.
She told Express.co.uk what these sessions entailed: Basically, it teaches you how to eat a balanced and healthy diet. After trying several diets before, I found that with Slimming World I could eat as much food as I wanted without weighing me down, including vegetables, fruits, lean meats, pasta and rice. I was very happy.
“Although you do need to be careful with how much you snack on bread, oil, chocolate, biscuits, potato chips, etc., the total number of days you spend on these items is a ‘sin’. This means you can eat whatever you want, but measure these items and incorporate them into your plan.

“I have been able to make great friends through the group and love going there to catch up early before the group starts. One of our group members recently ran the London Marathon, so after being surrounded by inspiring people, leave the group feeling always motivated for the next week. I can.”
Thanks to Slimming World, Jessica is now eating healthy, balanced meals without starving. She shares her daily meal plan with her Express.co.uk below.
As for exercise, the junior doctor has joined a new netball team and plays in the local league every Tuesday.
Jessica says, “I love being back on the court again. I’ve also started a new sport called Aero Bungy. It’s a workout or dance class in a bungee harness and it’s a lot of fun. It’s also a great alternative to driving.” Also, I often choose to walk places, and I hope to find exercise classes on the weekends as well.”
Jessica’s mental health is “much better” thanks to the increased amount of exercise. She reveals: It’s fun to wear clothes that she’s had in the back of her wardrobe for over six years. I hope that sharing my weight loss story will inspire others to start losing weight. “
