‘I’m having trouble walking’ – Charles Watts drops possible Arsenal claims after fitness concerns after game
Journalist Charles Watts has revealed that Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko is “not doing well” after the North London derby.
In their most recent Premier League match, the Gunners enjoyed victory thanks to a strong victory over their local rivals.
In fact, Arsenal beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 with goals from Thomas Parti, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka, with Zinchenko playing at left-back for 73 minutes.
After the game, however, he appeared to be “struggling to walk.” Watts, however, allayed his primary fitness concerns, saying it was likely a cramp rather than an injury.
The journalist explained on his YouTube channel: Up.
“He had something over his legs… I don’t know what it was, but basically it was pretty much this kind of tights, protecting the muscles, keeping them warm, that sort of thing. However, he had great difficulty walking and was not moving well.
”I don’t think he was injured.
“I mean, he hasn’t played in a while, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he was struggling a bit after the game.”
Zinchenko missed the club’s previous match, a 3–0 victory over Brentford, due to a calf injury. He also missed two games early in the season due to knee problems (via Transfermarkt).
Given this, it wouldn’t be surprising if Zinchenko had a bit of cramping after the match, and it seems likely that this would be more serious than anything else, especially if the Derby was a more intense workout.
Arsenal fans will be relieved to see the Ukrainian player’s performances for the Gunners so far.
In fact, the 25-year-old has won 5 out of 6 games in every competition he has played for his new team.
This performance propelled the North London club to the top of the Premier League and is expected to stay healthy and fit for the foreseeable future.
