CDC guidelines suggest more Americans should hit the gym.
New statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reveal that less than a quarter of Americans meet the minimum amount of physical activity required to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Data collected in 2020 by the National Center for Health Statistics were published in the August 2022 Data Brief.
It showed that only 24.2% of adults 18 years and older meet physical activity guidelines for both aerobic and strength-training exercises.

The 2018 standards recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity per week. Those who do it are most likely to experience health benefits.
