TikTok is my new commitment to quick recipes. What I’m trying to cover is annoying.
Of course, I went to the taste test first. Later that day, I did it a second time for an additional photo. Getting proper lighting is very important. Naturally, I did it for the third time so that I could try it with my family. I may have eaten a bite or two just for the purpose of collecting sound data (scientific method and everything). And I did it for the fourth time for breakfast on Sunday morning. Because for friends, it’s a religious experience.
Jenn Jones was a singer until the pandemic hit the entertainment industry in a particularly big way. When she asked herself what else she could do, she turned to another love, food. She has been cooking since she was a kid and she always had the knack. “I know what works,” she said. For the past 18 months, she began to move into a plant-based diet and noticed an improvement in her own health, as some families had health problems that required dietary changes. We have moved to a completely plant-based diet.
Throughout her efforts, she has uploaded her efforts to her TikTok and Instagram and hopes to help others who are interested in trying a plant-based diet. “I wake up and think about recipes. I’m crazy about recipes all day long. I think about recipes and sleep!” She said, and her video gives people their health. He added that he wants to give priority.
I agree that she only knows what flavors will come together, but her ideas are at the same time refreshing and novel. I’ve never seen anything like her bright red pepper pineapple juice. Some of her recipes are also really healthy. I’m frustrated by the super-processed ingredients and chemical additives that pretend to be good nutrition, but not so much here. She finds that the most popular things on her social media are fruit and vegetable juices and sweets, and it’s easy to see why. She is excited that she makes some of her recipes herself.
Join the Air Fryer Banana Split, the 14th day of the 31-day plant-based challenge. Since it was posted in January, it has been viewed over 3 million times on TikTok. I know what you are thinking: Hot ice cream does not calculate. But give it a try. Then you can understand what she is doing.
There are many great air fryer banana recipes online, but most are sliced and caramelized. (Advanced tip: unless you like to scrape off the burnt sugar, line up the foil in an air fryer.) Cooked bananas may sound strange at first glance, but I’ve eaten banana foster before. There may be. Banana cue (banana and barbecue portmanteau) has been a staple of street food cooking in the Philippines for decades. However, the recipe for this banana split is different.
First, Jones slits an unpeeled banana, which is different from other fried banana recipes. She puts it aside, cuts a slit on her upside, leaving the underside of her skin like a hot dog bread. She opens it a little, fills it with half of natural peanut butter, dark chocolate and walnuts and air fries at 400 ° F for 5-6 minutes. Then she tops it with cinnamon and plant-based yogurt (she suggests cocojun coconut yogurt). She says her reaction to Tik Tok is genuine and her first taste in her own new recipe, and I think I had the same look when I tried it myself.
Let’s fry, I’ll show you!
It is recommended to use a fully ripe banana with some brown dots. I’m allergic to nuts in my house, so I made mine using unsweetened sunflower oil, dark chocolate chips, and pumpkin seeds, but the peanut butter and walnuts used by Jones, or almonds and pumpkins. Seeds and even nut peanut butter will all work.
Start preheating the air fryer while preparing the banana. You can easily pack the toppings by wedges both sides with a spoon. All you need is about 1 tablespoon each.
I looked at it 5 minutes later, but the pumpkin seeds weren’t burning, so I decided to go an extra minute for caramelization. Bananas tend to be quite soft at the last moment, so if you don’t like it, stop in 4-5 minutes.
The topping happened to have coffee chobani Greek yogurt. I also tried a little strawberry jam to enhance the banana split effect.
verdict? Majestic.
It’s hot, but cold yogurt contributes to the impression of an ice cream treat. With all the toppings, creamy texture, sweetness and temperature contrast, it’s the opposite of a kind of hot fudge banana split. This recipe usually works with less than 350 calories, depending on the nut butter and yogurt used. The average ice cream shop banana split has at least 800.
Some of the people I shared it with weren’t crazy about the color changes the skin received within the first minute of heating (I haven’t named it, but his initials were “my initials.” Husband “), but I think it’s impressive and beautiful, like forbidden rice and moondrop grapes. People who don’t like overripe bananas may, of course, find the colors unpleasant. If necessary, it is absolutely possible to separate the rind from the banana a little, both before and after cooking. Then you can finesse it from the skin to the dish with a spoon before topping the yogurt.
Jones says the reaction was almost universally positive, but her aerial fried oranges from day 13 were even more loved with 6.7 million views. Her own favorite is her “paradise on the plate” air-fried pineapple. If you’re considering adding a plant-based diet or snack to your repertoire, Jones recommends starting with a recipe that uses her favorite ingredients and gradually changing. “It could take six months or three years, but as long as you’re trying, that’s not a problem. Everyone is on their own journey,” she said.
Next up is her healthy ice cream sandwich and pasta chips (today’s trend was picked up last summer). For Jones’s next thing, she’s not doing anything small, so hold your hat. She runs a skin care business with her own coffee oil treatments and works like a body scrub. There is her new wellness blog. She has a downloadable cookbook (a series of four seasonal editions called “So Easy & So Good”) and a YouTube channel. And of course, on her TikTok, you can always find her quick and easy plant-based recipes.
My own prediction? She loves Ceylon cinnamon and she has an adorable trademark. Foresee Jenn Jones Ceylon CIN-na-MEIN! A classy label and a suggestion to put it literally on everything, of course, sprinkle with something healthy and all-natural.
Some clever spice companies should snap it. I think she might go to the place.
