The 49th Field Regiment will conduct training exercises throughout May.
This training will be held on May 9th, 12th and 24-26th.

The 49th (Sault Ste. Marie) Field Regiment will conduct an exercise in the city of Sault Ste. Marie on May 9, 2022. About 20 Army reserves will participate in the exercise. The purpose of this exercise is to enable soldiers to practice the skills they have learned in the artillery reconnaissance technician course. The general public is advised to see military vehicles move in groups on this day. You will also see soldiers in Bellevue Park investigating with artillery. No ammunition or fireworks will be used during this exercise.

The purpose of this exercise is to allow soldiers to practice their tactics and skills during the operations they have learned in the Artillery Reconnaissance Technician Course. The general public is advised to see military vehicles move in groups these days. Also, reconnaissance, investigation, and occupation of deployment sites within Snow Scoop on People’s Road, Shannon Road, Queen Street E, and Gooley Avenue. The unit conducts training using personal weapons. No ammunition or fireworks will be used during this exercise.
Drivers need to be careful as the unit travels on public roads in groups.
Residents must be informed that soldiers will carry service rifles and support weapons.
