Joey Swoll is a popular fitness influencer and consistently advocates getting rid of the bad gym etiquette world. In a recent TikTok video, Swoll talks to a woman who claims to be stared at by an older man while trying to exercise in the gym.
Going to the gym with social media has been operated in tandem since we started having cameras with accessible phones. With the growing popularity of streaming platforms like TikTok, people are taking the opportunity at the gym to show their viewers what they’re working on. Often, hostile situations occur, leading to online virus disagreements. One such case happened last month when an egolifter crashed the training of a fellow gym attendant and showed off instead of reaching out to help.
These cases inspire what Joey calls the toxic Jim culture and are offered in a variety of ways. According to Swoll, influencers are often more interested in gaining views, likes, and interactions than actually helping each other when working out in the gym. Joey understands how harmless things in the gym can be confusing.
Back in January, Joey made an example from Tik Toker, a woman who was trying to be ashamed of a man for staring at her. After all, she was just blocking TV and the guy was watching an episode of the comedy series, Mr Bean.
Joey Swoll talks about the business mindset in the gym
Joey Swoll went to TikTok and responded to a woman who claimed to care about her business. The caption of Swoll’s video says, “Women are being harassed in the gym and need to stop. This is not the case.”
“The most annoying thing about this video is that someone in the comments section said that he struck the man’s wrinkles by looking down on you. That is, this guy looks at you for a few seconds. Deserves to be beaten, and you liked and endorsed it. In the video, he says, “I care about my business.”
Actually, when I’m shooting in a public place, I don’t care about my business. It’s okay, but you have to respect others.
You also say that you normalize without staring. You were around this guy. You have picked up some weights. He looked around for a few seconds to see what you were doing, and then he turned his eyes away to care about his business. I do this. People are in public places. People are looking at you.
There is a difference between staring like creep and simply looking at someone to see what they are doing. Women are harassed and despised in the gym. You are not one of them. You need to do better. You need to care about your own business. Posted by Joey Swoll.

In the video, the female TikToker grabs some dumbbells and gets to the point where she starts exercising. In the seconds it takes a woman to position her, you can see an older gentleman glancing at her for a few seconds. Joey argues that when people are in public places, they will inevitably be seen.
The old man looked around easily, so Joey suggests that there is a big difference between staring at a woman eerily and simply looking at someone in the line of sight.
Not only did Swol blame the woman for falsely accusing the man of ridiculing her, but Joey chased people in the comments section in support of her actions. One such commentator said, “Wrinkle from this guy,” Joey believes is simply wrong.

Joey’s TikTok video was popularized by word of mouth after a huge number of views and over 310,000 likes. Disseminating awareness of the toxic gym culture is one of Swoll’s main goals in streaming platforms. After calling the woman TikToker, Joey categorically claims she didn’t care about her business while recording in the gym.
