1. Dahlia milk porridge
material:
Dahlia – 1/4 cup
tablespoon of date syrup (optional)
Ghee – 1/2 teaspoon
Water – 1/2 cup
Method:
1. Wash the dahlias and soak for 1 hour. Drain the water, add a little water and blend the dahlias in a blender.
2. Strain the dahlia paste using a muslin cloth to squeeze out as much milk as possible.
3. Add the extracted dahlia milk to the pot and cook until it reaches the consistency of porridge.
4. Add date syrup and mix well. Add ghee from above and turn off the heat. Enjoy your meal while it’s warm.
2. Veggie Dahlia Khihidi
material:
Dahlias – 1/4 cup (washed and drained)
Ghee – 1 tablespoon
Cumin seeds – 1/4 teaspoon
Onion … 2 tablespoons (finely chopped)
Tomato 2 tbsp (chopped)
1/2 potato (peeled and chopped)
Carrots – 1/4 cup (chopped)
Black pepper powder – 1/2 teaspoon
water – 2 cups
Method:
1. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin and splash.
2. Add onions and fry until golden brown. Add tomatoes, vegetables, and black pepper, and stir for 1 minute.
3. Add dahlia and water. Cover and pressurize for 4 minutes and turn off the heat.
4. When the pressure is released, add more water according to your baby’s needs.
5. Transfer the kihidi to a bowl and warm.
3. Dahlia porridge
material:
Dahlias – 1/4 cup (washed and drained)
Date syrup – 2 tsp (optional)
Almond-4
water – 3/4 cup
milk – 1/2 cup
Method:
1. Put dahlias, almonds and water in a pressure cooker and boil with a whistle 2-3 times.
2. Once pressure is released, add date syrup (if using) and blend until smooth paste.
3. Mix with formula or breast milk and feed to baby.
Note:
If using milk, transfer the blended dahlias to a pot, add the milk and simmer over low heat until thickened.
4. Dahlia Upuma
material:
Dahlia – 1/4 cup
mixed vegetables – 1/4 teaspoon
Ghee – 1/2 tablespoon Curry leaves – 2-3 pieces
mustard seed – 1/4 teaspoon
Hing – pinch
pepper powder – as needed
water – 1 cup
Method:
1. Add a little ghee to the pot and dry roast the dahlias over medium heat for 2 minutes and set aside.
2. Add ghee to the same pot. Add mustard seeds and pop.
3. Add hin and curry leaves and sauté for a few seconds. 4. Add vegetables and he sauté for 1 minute.
5. Add a little water and simmer until soft.
6. Add water and bring to a boil. Add dahlia and mix well.
7. Add water and cook until the dahlias are soft (if needed).
8. When it’s ready, feed it to your baby.
5. Daria Halwa
material:
Dahlia – 1/4 cup
Ghee – 1 tablespoon
Jaggery – 1 tbsp
dried fruit powder – 1 tbsp
Cardamom powder – a pinch
milk – 1/4 cup
water – 1/2 cup
Method:
1. Add ghee and roast the dahlias in a frying pan. Add water and cook until the dahlias are fully cooked.
2. Add milk and heat for 2-3 minutes until milk is fully absorbed.
3. Add jaggery powder and cardamom powder and fry until the moisture is gone.
4. Add dried fruit powder and mix well. while it’s hot.
